5 out of 5 stars Great Gun and Perfect for Woodsball   March 4, 2007
1 out of 2 found this review helpful

This gun is made for woodsball and the flatline barrel shoots much farther. It is not as accurate (maybe about 1-2 spread at 200ft) but the extra range more than makes up for it. I have used several other guns includin a spyder TL-X and a tippman 98. The remote line is great as well as the stock. Again, if you are looking for a speedball gun this is not for you, but if you love woodsball, this is a must buy.

1 out of 5 stars Marker received in poor working order   December 19, 2006

I used the marker for the first time this weekend. I was very disappointed with its performance. The ref at the field clocked the marker at 225 fps with the adjustment screw maxed out. One of the pros tried to repair, but were only able to get 243 fps. I was using a 72cu 3000psi nitro tank with included remote. The tank output was verified at 750psi. Due to lack of velocity, the flatline barrel was ineffective. I will have to bring this gun into a local shop for a complete repair. I still have faith in Tippmann, but this was definately not a good experience. When you spend $350 on a marker, it should perform as advertised.

5 out of 5 stars Flatline is great, don't listen to nay-sayers   August 4, 2006

Look, I got the a-5, and then bought the stock and flatline seperately so I've been able to see what it does with out the flatline barrel. The only reason the flatline would be inaccurate is poor quality paint, or it was installed incorectly. This marker is a great deal. Completely reliable. I've never had a chopped ball, and only had one misfeed (and that was because I jammed the hopper full of paint, but once I cycled the cyclone feeder, by just pressing a button, I was putting paint down range again...took about 2 seconds)
I've used the response trigger, and fell in love with that too. The only thing is if you don't have it adjusted to your trigger pull, it will stop firing full-auto. Once you get that dialed it, it works flawlessly. Just make sure you are using N2 or compressed air tanks if it's cold out. This is because the small excess gas lines that operator the reponse trigger and the cyclone feeding system can freeze up if the weather is a little cold. I've only heard of this though, and have never had a problem, even with CO2 tanks.
This marker is a decent size with the flatline and buttstock, so don't expect to do that great in speedball (as gun hits count), but in scenario games, it's a formidable weapon. I love this marker and have consistently hit targets when I am out of their range. Once you get good with a "reflexive fire" routine, targets upto 50 yards will get painted 8 of 10 times and at least 6 out of ten from farther off (up to about 70-80 yards)
It's worth the money, trust me.
