3 out of 5 stars Intensified alertness, but also jitters & no discernible Hulk'ness :(   April 17, 2008
Have you ever been so tired that you frantically slammed back a bit more coffee or espresso drinks than your body was ready for? Sure, you got a jolt of alertness, but along with that, you may have also felt a bit jittery, maybe even a bit short of breath.

That about defines how I felt after taking these pills.

Let me take a step back for a moment and first tell you a bit about myself so you can understand where I'm coming from. I'm a medium-sized guy (about 5'7" and 158 pounds), moderately in-shape, and used to having occasional cups of coffee or shots of espresso (averaging about 150mg caffeine a day -- about one strong coffee-worth). While taking these TwinLab pills, I avoided drugs that would contribute to alertness/jitteryness (like Sudafed), and also didn't make any substantial changes in my diet or exercise pattern.

Speaking of exercise, I am generally involved in aerobic activities for about 2-5 hours a week, and typically lift weights about once a week for around 40 minutes straight.

But enough about me... here are some of my experiences with these pills:

THUMBS UP:

- Definitely boost my alertness and my mood, and seemingly in a more powerful and sustained way than coffee. This was certainly an unexpected side effect!

- Didn't cause any stomach discomfort, and my stomach can be kind of sensitive.

THUMBS DOWN:

- Gave me the jitters... similar to when I've had two very strong cups of coffee in a row or slammed down a huge espresso drink quickly. This was particularly noticed when I had one pill with breakfast and another, 4-6 hours later, with lunch.

- I even felt a bit short of breath. Nothing too awful and certainly not painful or even particularly worrisome, but occasionally a bit uncomfortable.

- Didn't notice any difference in weight, muscle density or size, or pretty much anything else appearance-wise.

OTHER OBSERVATIONS:

- Pills go down pretty easily with no horrid smell or aftertaste.

- I'm thinking that perhaps if I had intensified my weightlifting, I'd have seen some results. Perhaps these pills really don't work for folks who just do occasional weights.

* * *

All in all, I think I'd probably recommend these pills to folks who are bigger into weightlifting or who need or crave sustained alertness, but I don't plan on buying another batch to test on myself.

3 out of 5 stars Jury is still out   March 27, 2008
I do notice a difference in my energy level when I work out, but I haven't noticed a different any other way. I think this is something you might have to use for several months to notice any change in your body.

3 out of 5 stars I didn't see any results but....   March 27, 2008
I've been on a weight mgmt plan since Jan 1 2008, training in the gym 4x per week and eating about 1200 cals a day. I took this product as suggested, but didn't see any differences in weight loss. Energy wise the caffeine in it seemed to help, but perhaps you have to take it longer to see results, each bottle is just 20 day supply. So the verdict is not in yet on it, it would be better to have a month or two supply, so that I could evaluate it better.

3 out of 5 stars Pretty Good   March 24, 2008
Tried this for about 2 weeks. Overall, it seemed to be a pretty good at keeping my energy up. I instantly (well about 20 mins after) felt 'ready to go' , work out, do stuff etc. Not to the point where I felt jumpy though, like some of the other "amp up "metabolism stims. Plus on the energy boost withgout feeling like you're on some kind of caffeine binge.

However, one thing I wanted to point out was that the next day, major downtime in waking up. Much harder than anything else I tried. You would think that with less caffeine it would be the other way around (less energy, less down time afterwards, but it seemed to be completely opposite). All in all, seemed to work ok. Would prob have to try it on a longer term to nitice a major difference in weight loss.. I did burn 4 lbs in the 2 weeks, whereas normally, I lose a lb or two if I keep the same diet.

2 out of 5 stars Stimulation that caused me to reconsider   March 22, 2008
This product immediately made my metabolism speed up.I felt nervous and edgy.
I found gthat it curbed my appetite and when paired with coffee(which I drink daily twice). The hyper feeling that took over me,pursuaded me to stop .I tried it for one week, and my appetite did decrease. I have always been sensitive to stimulants, and so I elected to not continue as I don't trust big changes in energy levels.I also had trouble winding down to sleep.
For others this might be fine, but my instincts told me to stop taking this metabolic accelerator.
My abs are not that important to me i guess.
