poor glue... ok mirror.. May 19, 2008 I have had this mirror for 3 years and the glue failed. I suppose that's the expected lifetime of this product, but I expected better.
I just mounted the mirror not directly in the front part of the helmet but more back and to the left. That gave me a pretty good view to the rear. So my complaint is the glue holding it to my helmet. The mirror is not as good as my current mirror, an eyeglass version by take-along, but that one has the issue of being too low by virtue of being on my eyeglasses. Oh well you pays your money and takes your choice.
Any mirror beats no mirror and this one works. Just be prepared to replace it after a while.
Great Mirror April 15, 2008 I was very happy how this mirror works. It attached to my helmet easy and the adjustment works fine for being able to see behind me. the mirror it self is just a little small, that is why I give it four stars. I would buy another if I needed to.
Easy to Use Helmet Mirror November 4, 2007 7 out of 8 found this review helpful
I was surprised to see the negative reviews of this item. I have been using a Blackburn Helmet Mirror for 4-5 years. I was only ordering a new one to go with a new helmet. I have used a third eye helmet mirror and a wire helmet mirror in the past, and find the Blackburn much easier to attach and adjust. I have been using a helmet mirror since I began serious cycling in the 1980's. Though it is much smaller than a handlebar mirror, it gives a more accurate picture of the distance of the approaching vehicle.
Disappointing October 27, 2007 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
I found this unit useless. I found it impossible to adjust so that I could see the road behind and when I held it in place I could not easily focus on the road behind. There may be a better way to adjust it, but the instructions don't tell you how.
Painful... October 6, 2007 2 out of 2 found this review helpful
I think I sprained my left eyeball trying to see anything. It's a two dollar mirror selling for $15.
