enviornmental friendly water bottle for kids October 14, 2008 I bought this bottle for my 4 year old, who goes to school M-F from 9 am-3 pm and eats lunch there. I wanted a bottle that could be re-used. The bottle is odorless, BPA-free and works well. It does not leak in his lunch box. I gave it 4 instead of 5 stars b/c the cap that goes over the re-tractable lid is hard for a grown-up to open. I think that his teachers have to help him open his water bottle in school. But the quality and durability are very good. I definitely recommend this product.
Klean Kanteen water bottle October 12, 2008 Nice size. Holds alot of water. Some cons - The empty container is heavy so when you fill it, its a little weighty. The stainless steel "sweats" if you put ice cubes in it. With the sport top, when you drink, you get a high pitched squeaking noise.
I LOVE KLEAN KANTEEN October 10, 2008 What's there to say?!!? It holds life sustaining water AND its good for the environment. YAY....I bought one in the brown and a stainless steel one for my bf. They go everywhere with us! Next I will purchase the small ones for our three boys....
Great for Travel October 7, 2008 The Klean Kanteen Stainless Steel water bottle is just the right size to fit into a lunch bag. The water does not have a metallic taste and the flat cap is secure and leakproof. Excellent for children and adult lunch boxes. Easy to clean.
Klean Kanteen Knocks Out Nalgene and SIGG - ignore negative reviews October 7, 2008 Just a short review. I use a reusable water bottle literally everyday in my workplace. I typically go through 30-60oz. of water per work day. I've used both Nalgene and SIGG for extended periods. Summed up the Klean Kanteen is superior in various ways:
- 304 Stainless Steel:clean, durable, inert, sanitary, toxin-free, etc....I'm getting ABSOLUTELY no off-taste from these even after 2 days of sitting water (I often refill at the end of the day and may not necessairly finish the water for a day and a half). Water keeps a fresh taste period!
- Durable. Obviously not going to be as dent free as polycarbonate, but the plusses outweigh that. It will NOT dent easily as others have intimated.
- WIDE opening. Not too wide to drink from at all, perfect really. How many narrow SIGG style drinking glasses do you have in your house, hmmm? None! Nice rolled lip. BONUS: Waaay easier to fill than a SIGG.
- Lids work perfectly. It's a lid, anybody who gripes about it is nuts. It seals easily and well.
- Unlike SIGG, these are not coated with a "secret" proprietary coating on the inside. Furthermore, do you really want to drink day after day out of aluminum and trust that coating to keep you safe?
- Unlike Nalgene; Nalgene bottles are great but they are only good for short periods as they most certainly impart staleness to water quickly. Also, unless you're using one of the newer BPH free bottles, do you want yet another chance at nasty molecules in your body?
