This is the most accurate pedometer under most circumstances an the easiest to use. I had 4 other pedometers previous to purchasing this one. The software is simple to use and save me the time of having to enter the daily data as I had to do with the others.
As to its mechanical design, the only flaw is the holding clip. It will not hold the pedometer clipped to running shorts or a belt when running hard since it tends to slip, it is too short. I resolved the problem by drilling a small hole at the end of it and inserting a small screw with a sharp point so it can grab the cloth without slipping. As I mentioned before, it is extremelly accurate and silent except when used when exercising in an eliptical machine; it undercounts the number of steps by about 40%. But this problem was also experienced with the other pedometers I previously used.
Despite the above shortfalls, it is best I have owned.

I have had several other cheap pedometers and none of them had nearly as many features or options as the Omron. My only problem is remembering to put it on in the morning. It keeps me motivated, holds all information for as long as the battery lasts, and clears the steps automatically at midnight. What more could you want? The only minor gripes I have are that it is a little big in the size department, and the clip on the back of the pedometer itself isn't really all that wonderful. Make sure you utilize the lanyard and clip, I have found the Omron hanging several times from the lanyard without it, I would have been minus a pedometer.

This pedometer is easy to operate and I particularly like the clip that fastens easily to the waist band. It has a nice read out dial and the automatic reset occurs daily. You can then use your computer to transfer records. It was recommended from a reputable walking group that gives guidance for marathoners. It is worth the money.

I have tried many pedometers, but this one beats all of them. I love that I can put it in my pocket or purse and it still works.
Newly purchased September 8, 2007
I just got my Omron HJ-720ITC and so far I love it! It was easy to set up and I just completed downloading my information. Easy to follow software. I love the feature where you can goal set and it shows your progress towards the goal. Nice to have the aerobic feature as my old pedometer lacked that. I am a little concerned about the safety clip as it is plastic and on my other two pedometers they both broke. Would be nice to see that part made in a metal that would last longer. Hope to keep enjoying the pedometer. Thanks for a great product at a great price!
