Good stand alone Heavy Bag August 8, 2008 2 out of 2 found this review helpful
I am a big guy, and it is difficult to find a decent quality stand alone heavy bag, that can stand up to me. I would prefer to have a heavy bag that I can attach to the ceiling, but where I currently live it's not an option. After 15 years of martial arts, and seeing all kinds of heavy bag fads, I finally found this one, and love it. It has a great base, that is heavy enough that I don't tip it over and the base does not slosh all over (I filled mine up with both sand and water to make it extra heavy). It can take my hardest hits and kicks and still stay upright (no other stand alone bags I have used ever have). Yes it does move a bit, but that just makes you keep up with your footwork, constantly moving around it and making for a better workout. I also like the fact that it is tall, and you don't have to readjust the height. Of all the heavy bags I have used this one has been the best. Still using it, and so far the bag seems to be standing up to the constant onslaught and abuse, we'll see if it stands up over the long haul. Yes I would recommend this to a friend.
WaveMaster XXL August 2, 2008 Excellent product. Been beating the tar out of it for a month and it's still in great shape. Great range of target zones and well balanced.
Perfect for keeping in shape July 20, 2008 I used to train at Billy Blanks studio - but with gas prices as crazy as they are I don't want to make the 30 min drive anymore....so I bought this bag. I filled it with sand and then filled it with water on top of the sand. It barely moves...its perfect! Love it!
Great Bag July 11, 2008 2 out of 2 found this review helpful
Okay, I've had this bag a few months now and I like it more and more. I use to hate that the bag slide, but I actually like that now because it forces me to move and practice my foot work. The bag is very durable and it can take a beating. I does rock when you hit it, but it would unless your strike becomes a push, I think it would be hard to knock it over. It would probably be easier to do with a kick than a punch, but I have not even come close to knocking it over with a punch.
A word of warning...this bag takes up a lot of space and to use it, you would need even more space. And, it rocks a bit, so I certainly would not recommend it for an upstairs room or apartment.
I love the bag and I'm happy I purchased it.
Takes a lot of punishment June 8, 2008 1 out of 2 found this review helpful
My daughter took Krav Maga (Israeli army-style hand-to-hand) and needed a punching bag to keep in shape and maintain training. It had to be indestructible for her (she is fierce & merciless), but I didn't want anything that had to be mounted to the ceiling or walls. The Century XXL Wavemaster is perfect. Her older sisters (one has taken Judo and the other is just plain mean), football friends, cousins - everybody likes giving it their best shot. It stays in place and takes a lot of punishment. Great product!
