Great deal October 6, 2008 I was a little hesitant to buy this after reading one of the reviews that stated the balls only lasted for a few days before they had to be pumped up everyday. I'm glad I decided to buy it anyway. I've been using it for the past few weeks without any problems. If you just want it for your personal use, go for it and you won't regret it. The price is really good especially considering you get the pump and DVD. The pump is kind of cheesy and it took me forever to get the ball ready but it hasn't required any further pumping up so it's all good. Also, I don't think the pump is any different from the ones you get when buying other balance balls. The DVD is a compilation of exercises from the Gaiam series. I had never worked with a balance ball before so it was a very good introduction to it.
Used as a birthing ball too October 2, 2008 I found this product to be perfect for a low cost birthing ball. I am 5'5" and weighed in at 182 lbs in my pregnancy and it worked fine. I had to inflate it more than I originally thought, but it held up great. I used it before labor and during early labor at home. Now the baby enjoys bouncing while I hold her, and it is helping me regain core strength. Also a comfortable seating option in the early days post delivery.
Wonderful Product!!!!!!!! September 19, 2008 First, I have to say the price is a steal. I wouldn't have bothered if it wasn't for its affordability. I just started working out, I keep hearing about stability balls. So I decided to give it a try. I was surprised at the quality, it was very good. The ball is transparent so it looks deceivingly flimsy. I actually filled it with good 'ol lung power, and used the pump to get it firm. The air pump is garbage (it's good as a back up). I haven't filled it to its maximum because I fear popping it ( my own paranoia ). Yet, it's nice and firm so I'll inflate as I see fit. The DVD is a good intro. I will need to get more DVDs soon. Using it has alleviated the pain from my lower back, my abs are getting toned and I feel good! I really do think this product is worth a try.
Maybe not the best for strenuous use August 24, 2008 0 out of 1 found this review helpful
I bought six of these to use in my classroom for students to use as chairs. The kids love them, they are the right height, and the price was right. One of the balls didn't last for four days before needing to be pumped up every day. Two weeks later, another ball has now started to need pumping up every day. They have no visible or audible holes, so I'm guessing they leak around the plug. Granted, they get used actively all day long, and the kids do like to bounce on them. The pump that comes with the ball is pretty lame. It will do the job, but it will take 15 minutes to pump the ball from flat to full. I don't mind the arm workout, but a foot pump, one that handles a larger volume of air, or a dual-action pump would be more efficient. My least favorite part is getting the plug out of the ball. I have not bothered to look at the workout DVD that accompanied the ball since that wasn't the purpose in using them. The color is more blue than green.
Awesome ball! July 1, 2008 2 out of 2 found this review helpful
This ball is great so far! I use it as a ball chair and for exercises. I have used it for a couple of months with no problems. It is transparent and sounds sticky (on kitchen floor) when you bounce up and down. Great for price.
