5 out of 5 stars Excellent treadmill and a great value!   December 31, 2007

1. Packaged great, well protected. They called ahead and arranged a delivery time, even came in the snow.

2. Best instructions and hardware packaging I have ever seen! Each assembly step has its own hardware bag, so you dont have to figure out what is what. Assembled by myself in less then 30 minutes. It took longer to get it out of all the packaging then put it together.

3. Outstanding performance and features, super quiet, and the programs are actually challenging instead of so easy you never use them.

All in all, a great treadmill, and so far we are very happy with it. We researched a lot prior to buying this one, and we are glad we got it.

It was easy to assemble and I have been using it everyday. I really like the different options and the safety features (I have a two year old). I couldn't be happier with it.

Belt never stays in the middle, always tends to go all the way to the right, there is an annoying unbearable noise, and ready to call the manufacturer to take care off these issues.

I have had this treadmill for two weeks and love it. It is EXTREMELY heavy in the box and the two delivery guys practically burst a gasket getting it into the basement. I was scared it would be hard to assemble but it wasn't. You have to assemble it wherever you open the box. That is stated clearly on the box but I've read reviews where people didn't and bad things happen.

The assembly took about an hour because I am technically challenged and went slowly. However, everything is spelled out very clearly and all of the hardware (screws, allan keys etc) are packaged separately for each step. It does require a second person to help because at one point you have to hold the console on while screwing it in from behind, and the bars you're screwing into have to be bent in slightly to fit. So you can't bend the bar, hold the screw and keep the console in place with two arms. Also, to get some of the screws completely screwed in, it required extra muscle from my husband. (I did put WD40 on the screws, as recommended, but still couldn't get them all the way in). Finally, when I plugged the two console wires into each other before dropping them into the metal arm that holds the console I didn't do it correctly but I couldn't tell until it was all set to go and the console wouldn't turn on. Luckily, once everything else is done, unscrewing the console to get access to the wires is only two screws. I corrected my mistake and I was ready to go.

The treadmill is everything it claims to be. It is rock solid, but easy to walk on (no jarring; there are air cushions under the track). It is very easy to fold (no muscle required). It moves pretty easily on wheels. It runs very quiet for a treadmill, as quiet as any gym treadmill. I can use it and watch TV alongside my family and they aren't bothered. It has loads of programming options, the speeds and inclines work great (although since I use it for fast walking I haven't tried out the 6-10mph range). It really feels just like using a gym treadmill. It also takes up as much space and now completely visually dominates our large family room. It does fold up but even folded up it's huge, and what is the point when I'm using it every day.

At one point I did fold and move it (you're supposed to vacuum underneath it once a week). The track got uncentered. However, the recentering process is unbelievably easy -- just turn a screw at the back and run the treadmill at .5mph till it recenters. Works perfectly.

What doesn't work is the heart monitor. You have to leave your hands on it for literally a few minutes to get any kind of reasonable reading (it goes slowly up from about 75 to 100 across these minutes). Once your heart beat is above 100 though it jumps straight to something completely crazy like 232bpm. When I check myself it is more like 168pm. But that's not that important to me. I do like having the readings of distance, incline, calories etc and I like the fact that you can get it to count up minutes or count down.

I am thrilled with this treadmill. My husband was worried it would become an expensive clothes drying rack (and it is handy for that!) but I have used it all but three days of 14 and neither of us can believe how convenient it is to have a treadmill at home instead of the gym.

We paid a fraction of the "real" price because we got it on a one day sale at 65% off. Delivery was an extra $20 bucks and they delivered it two days later. I think it was the deal of the century.

One caveat if you're thinking of buying one secondhand, the warranty is voided if you are not the original purchaser.

I really love this new Treadmill. I had just gotten rid of my older Proform which started making these really annoying creaking sounds when you ran on it. The Horizon treadmill seemed to have really great reviews for the price so I went ahead and took the plunge. I had a leeeeetle problem trying to organize shipping with the company Eagle, but when they arrived the guys were very courteous and helpful (I wish I could say the same for the Eagle customer service when you call to set up your appointment). The assembly was a cinch, all the holes lines up perfectly and I had it ready to go in less than a half an hour. Running on the treadmill is definitly easier than the Proform (at least the one I had) because it is much sturdier due to it's larger size. This was a bit of a shock though, as I have a studio apartment and now the treadmill is the first thing you see when you walk in! But honestly if it keeps me in shape then it really doesn't matter. The cup holders are kind of sleek and the fan works great! I really love the amount of programs that are available on this treadmill. It keeps me from getting bored/ lazy.
