2 out of 5 stars Check your height...   September 6, 2008

Great price, but too long. For a 5'3" person, its too long, and the adjustment is not feasible. Also, the rope itself HURTS when hit by the extreme length.

4 out of 5 stars Easily Adjustable!!   August 22, 2008

I ordered it about a month back. And I was able to adjust the rope length very easily. Just remove the buttons from the bottom of the handles. I used a blunt knife to do that. And I didn't cut the rope but just made a knot and inserted it inside the handle.

Great price, and it seems durable. I'm not convinced that the rope length is adjustable as advertised, but it's still a good deal.

4 out of 5 stars It does the job.   August 7, 2008

Well When I did boxing I used jump ropes quite a bit but haven't since and well this one is just as good as the one they had there. It's quite long so you'll have to most likely use it outside. I can't adjust it and I don't know truly if it can but it definitely deserves a 4/5 It does the job I don't understand the difference between this one of any other.

3 out of 5 stars An OK rope, but adjustable? Not easily.   June 23, 2008

As others have said, the big surprise was when I wanted to adjust it. If you don't have pliers, you're going to be stuck. I didn't get any extra crimp pieces with mine, so I had to use a metal pick (typically used for removing cotter pins) to bend one of the existing stops off the end of the rope. Then I cut to the appropriate length, and re-crimped the end with pliers. Was more effort involved than should have been since it's advertised as "adjustable."

The actual operation is pretty smooth. The bearings allow the rope to rotate freely without a lot of friction. The rope itself is some kind of rubbery plastic coated with vinyl. It's pretty heavy, as far as the ropes I've used anyway. The bad thing is if you jump rope in bare feet, this bad-boy nails them when you screw up, and lets you know via stinging pain that you did indeed screw up. Not a big fan of that. I'll more than likely get a different rope just because I'm no jump roping expert, and it'll probably take me a while before I can become good enough to never get nailed in the feet. (Wearing shoes isn't an option since I jump rope on martial arts mats, and I don't feel like grappling on a surface that has had shoes all over it.)
