1 out of 5 stars Way too little BANG for its BULK   May 30, 2008
1 out of 1 found this review helpful

I've purchased a variety of home exercise equipment over the years, and this must be the LEAST useful & MOST inconvenient thing (not to mention pricey) I've ever run across.

Don't believe for a second that it can be folded & stashed away when not in use--it's only marginally less bulky when folded. When it IS in use, unless you have a dedicated exercise room with plenty of open floorspace, plan on rearranging the furniture or launching some valuables.

Depending on how creative you are, there are only between 1 & 5 exercises you can do with this thing, which means you're investing a good bit of money & space for very limited returns. Oh, and if you do plan on leaving it out, expect to take some ribbing when friends come over. It's instantly recognizable, impossible to hide & about as sexy as an overstuffed recliner.

Bottom line, whatever your fitness goals, there are plenty of more compact, useful & inexpensive options out there than this thing. Keep looking.

5 out of 5 stars Now my back is 90% better   May 15, 2008

I bought the AB lounge 2 because my lower back was always very stiff and sore mostly from not exercising. I tried the lounge for about 5 minutes the first day and my back was 25% better by the next day. After several uses my lower back was almost as good as it was years ago. I only need to use it for about 5 minutes a week to keep my back in shape. I guess if I did use it more I might get my stomach in shape also.

3 out of 5 stars Good but not great--discipline and care needed   May 14, 2008

This is a pretty good alternative to situps and crunches, but it requires the user to concentrate and focus on the areas in need of development and strength. Sometimes it is hard to tell if it is working just right. After doing reps "until fatigue" as the directions for advanced users suggests, the user will definitely feel it, but these ab exercises don't have the same effect on my abs as real situps do--when I feel ab muscle pain even the next morning. Maybe this is good, but like I said, I am not sure the right areas are being targeted every time I use the apparatus.
Important note: this model does not fold completely flat, which may be a storage issue. I am not sure if the higher-end model does, but this one does not. Other than that, it is as advertised.

4 out of 5 stars Ab Lounge 2   April 14, 2008

Excellent product, this is my second one of these. The first lasted about 6 years and my family and I use it daily.
No my abs are not six packs but it is an excellent workout with minimal wear and tear on your body.

3 out of 5 stars Sore Back   April 8, 2008
Ab Lounge may hurt your back as it has mine if you don't do the warm up excersises first. Buyer beware of back injuries!
