A solid light July 12, 2007 3 out of 3 found this review helpful
We took the lantern camping for the first time and beat it around during travel and around the campsite. It performed well (although I still miss the "hiss" from the white gas model). Haven't used it enough to comment on battery life but the light that it generates is excellent.
Arrived broken, bad customer service June 26, 2007 3 out of 7 found this review helpful
This lantern was to replace the previous Coleman that died for no reason. This one arrived broken, shedding a faint blue light no brighter than a candle. Coleman material says contact them. They have limited phone hours. The e-mail to customer service went unanswered. I did get through by phone several days later and the nice lady at Coleman did ship a replacement bulb and then everything was fine. They finally answered the e-mail 31 days later and asked that the lantern be shipped back to them. Not even clear who pays return shipping.
Coleman manufactures terrific products. May 6, 2007 5 out of 5 found this review helpful
I bought two lanterns for backup in case of a power outage and they're terrific; lightweight, economical and reliable. Would recommend highly.
a good lantern January 12, 2007 8 out of 8 found this review helpful
The lantern is very sturdy and provides a bright white light that shines up to 20 feet if you hold it correctly. It is rugged and sturday. It fell from about 4 or 5 feet onto the ground a few times without breaking and kept shinning. The one minor problem with this is the batteries only last about 12 hours, so stock up on D batteries.
Cheap, and got us through two power outages. December 17, 2006 13 out of 13 found this review helpful
I bought two of these 8 D-cell lanterns for an impending storm, and sure enough the storm happened. Two of these lanterns could light the main floor of our house enough to comfortably walk around and see everything. I was told that one of our neighbors thought we had a generator. So, stock up on batteries next time there's a sale, and be ready for those power blackouts.
