Works better as a two bottle belt February 15, 2008 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
I had a 36" waist so I bought the X-Large, which is the size all of my shorts were in. The belt was too big. I tightened it as much as I could, however you can only tighten it so much, because the strap in the front runs out of velcro. It felt okay around the waist, however the two rear flasks bounced all over the place. I tried running with them 3 or 4 times and every time had to ditch them before I got a quarter mile. If I could do it over again, I would get the large belt to ensure I could get a very tight fit, as this might alleviate some of the jostling.
The front two flasks worked great and didn't bother me at all. Each bottle holds 8 oz of fluid (32 oz total), so that way I could bring 16 oz of water with me, which makes a huge difference when you get over 10 miles or so. Even still, I drained the bottles very quickly, as 8 oz is not a lot of water. The bottles have a rubber band that goes over the mouth when they're in the belt, which keeps the bottles secure and prevents them from flying out. Although you will need to use two hands to put the bottle back into the holster. The front pocket is useful for a small cell phone, ID, or gu, and has an inner pocket sewn into it as well. I could almost do without the front pocket as it was a little bulky for my tastes, but did come in handy with gu. The pocket and each of the bottle holders also has reflective material on it.
Overall, this would be a good product if the strap was more adjustable and it actually fit. As it is now, it is useless to me as a 4 bottle belt, and I will probably end up cutting the two rear holders off. I would recommend people who don't need an entire 32 oz consider the Fuel Belt Wachusett Belt Black or try it on in a store to ensure a proper fit.
Great Product October 9, 2007 0 out of 1 found this review helpful
This product was exactly as expected. It was purchased as a gift, arrived as it should have. The recipient is very happy with it.
Much better than old fuel belt ! September 27, 2007 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
The new bottles are much improved over the old style. They are thicker on the bottom and don't leak like the old style. I used my first one til the velcro just wouldn't stick anymore. So good to have a belt again-and even a better version! Long runs so much easier!
I like it July 30, 2007 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
This belt is great because it is adjustable. Be sure to get the size depending on where you want the belt to sit (on your waist or on your hips..) fits well. doesnt bounce. bottles work great!
Not practical, too many small bottles June 24, 2007 6 out of 8 found this review helpful
I would only recommend this product to someone if they don't feel comfortable with a water bottle carrier which is centered on their back.
The even-distribution of the four bottles is nice, but the bottles are so small you will spend much more time at water stations, screwing and unscrewing tops and pouring water into the small mouths of the bottles. Also, it takes two hands to fit the bottles back in their tight pouches. However, if you are only going to fill these at home and not have to refill them on the run, these problems might not matter.
On the plus side, I like the elastic cords which keep the bottles in place and the nozzles are fine to drink from. But after a couple outing I got a 20oz Ultimate Direction water bottle carrier and I never use my fuelbelt.
