I have recently purchased two of these swords, one for my friend and one for me. We were, and still are, intrested in sword fighting and this seemed like a great product. Right after we received these bokens we decided to give it a light trial, meaning no hard hits. Both of our bokens are now broken in half and we did not spar but for maybe a minute or two. if you are just intrested in hanging one of these items on your wall it is perfect, it looks great but, however, if you are like me and prefer to spare with someone I do not recomend this item.

This one looked pretty good, but I wasn't pleased with it. I had an earlier plain bokken made of oak which I liked a lot, and sadly gave to a friend. I thought this one would be similar but the wood was extremely fragile, mine cracked and chipped just doing some light sparring against padded swords. Aesthetically it's not altogether pleasing either, it's lumpy and irregular when you look close up. I'm trying to figure out which one I bought the first time.

I bought this sword and the one with the Black finish, I can't be more pleased. The wrap on the handle is a nice Touch; My Guard doesn't really fit that good, but will stay in place (it just jiggles a little when I swing). Also the fact that they have weight to them helps increase the muscles in your wrist and arms. I have hit them together accidentally and they seem to hold up to the blow. Great price for an even greater sword.

I ordered this practice sword and received it very quickly. I was very happy with the time frame for the delivery. However, the wood sword had a big crack in it when it arrived. I sent in a review for that sword and was sent another one at no charge. I did not even ask for a new one. I was very happy with the new Daito and very happy with the customer service I had received. The Daito feels good in your hands is easy to practice with. I would recommend this Daito.

Got this practice sword and its holding up good. Strong and sturdy. Draw back is the fabric around the handle wears out and shreds.
