Great value. June 1, 2008 I purchased this scooter for my 5 year old son who was having great difficulty learning to ride a bike, in spite of his desire to be successful. It was much easier for him to figure out how to balance this scooter, and gave him an extra measure of confidence since all he has to do is step off of it. The larger inflatable tires make this scooter much safer than razor style scooters with their small inline skate wheels.
New version of an old favorite... May 27, 2008 This is a wonderful scooter. It is well thought out and well made. Much more practical than the silly little scooters with roller skate wheels. As such, it enables 5-6 year olds to learn balance and control quite safely, making the transition to bikes a snap. Besides, what kid wouldn't like to have the best (maybe only) scooter of its kind in the neighborhood.
Ouch! May 17, 2008 This is a very fun scooter, but my daughter(after riding for about 5 minutes)needed to stop because she had gotten bloody scrapes.I had to put caps on the axel nuts. this company should sell this scooter with caps to prevent this.

Would be great, but assembly problems spoil it April 10, 2008 2 out of 2 found this review helpful
We purchased this scooter in January to give my son for his 9th birthday in early February. He already has a Razor and enjoys it; we felt that the addition of larger wheels and handbrakes would be a plus.
And they would have been, had we been able to assemble the handbrakes without help. But four hands working together with our own tools were not able to tighten the rear brake sufficiently and align the calipers to the wheel rim. We ended up taking it to the bike shop, and even the technician there told us it was a difficult job.
Once it was assembled, the scooter was greatly enjoyed - until something happened (we think our child or a friend dropped the scooter on its side) to bend the brake calipers. We would've thought they were sturdier, and certainly we couldn't muster enough strength to bend them back, but in any case the brakes are now useless, and we don't feel the scooter is safe to ride any longer.
The frame really does seem sturdy, and we think the design is good. For that, the scooter gets two stars. But between assembly issues and having it only two months before seeing major damage, I can't give it more than that.
