Product Description Intoducing the All New E-Grip, Electronic Grip System. The E-Grip system uses an electronic control board to activate a selenoid. When activated, the selenoid disengages the sear, which in turn fires the marker. The System is powered by a concealed 9 Volt Battery. All electronic componets are completely contained inside the grip, which allows you to quickly and easily change grips.

Do NOT buy this grip... September 2, 2008 Hey, I'll be honest...I DO NOT want everybody out there using one of these things. It's AWESOME!
This trigger on the A-5 is pure firepower. It's makes an already reliable & well designed marker even better. The peformance is fantastic & the various modes are great for all types of games.
My only complaint would be that I wished they actually made two versions of it. I understand WHY they made the mode switching the way they did...so it's more difficult to change on the field, like during a tourney or where full-auto is not allowed. That's cool, people going full-auto when they're not supposed to are almost as bad as wipers.
Still, it would be nice to just have a switch for those of us that are NOT into tourney ball...or heading off to parks that have those sort of restrictions. Of course then a lot of people would probably complain when their marker wasn't allowed on the field... So we live with the "hole."
Hey, here's a tip for ya though... Instead of carrying around an Allen wrench, which WILL eventually become embedded in your thigh... I carry a plastic ball marker...you know, like from a golf course. It's small, light and works great. It's just long enough to turn it on & off, and change modes, but not so long that you'll damage anything if you're trying to change it in a hurry.
I can't imagine using a marker without one of these ever again. If I ever need to replace my A-5 the next marker WILL have one of these.
A worthwhile upgrade for the A-5 July 22, 2008 The E-Grip allows you to upgrade your rate of fire through five various modes. The product description speaks for its benefits, which are many.
A few words of caution:
1) The firing modes are changed by sticking a small allen wrench or screwdiver through a hole in the grip (you can see it in the picture below the trigger guard). Thus, you can't change it on the fly.
2) The gun will not fire if the E-Grip is off - there's no manual backup.
3) You do NOT want to get it wet (it is, after all, an ELECTRONIC-Grip).
As long as you keep these in mind, the E-Grip is definitely a worthwhile investment, and it doesn't used any CO2 or compressed air (a la the Response Trigger), leading to more shots per fill (as long as you keep a fresh 9V battery in there).
Best and first upgread you should make for the A-5 July 9, 2007 This trigger works really well, and i have to tell you the rate of fire on this thing IS MAD!...rite now i have it set to 20paintballs per sec...and i do mean 20. only on big let down to this trigger is.. u must use and ( Allen key) to turn it on set mode for rate of fire and also to turn it of..that really sucks... Tippman should really have just put a switch on the out side of the gun so you can see the mode it is in and so u may change the rate of fire fast, becuase in a game if u wish to chane that rate of fire you must stop pick out an allen key... look down at your gun.....press in and hold the allen key on the button... my god that was just the worst idea they had when making this.. but other than that...... it is 100% pure power.. this makes yur gun reallly...rule the paintabll course.. i will tell anyone who is thinking of buyin it.. thats it is a dolla well spent
awesome upgrade May 31, 2007 This is an awesome upgrade for the A5. It's worth the 100 bucks if you're going to play a lot.
Easy install May 17, 2007 I love this upgrade to my A-5. it was way to easy to install and the custruction is the same durable materials that are used on the original trigger system that the gun is equipped with. I found the programming to be a little annoying but it wasnt impossible. The trigger shoots pretty quick in full auto mode. all in all this is a great upgrade to the A-5 and worth the money. Now if i can only find the time to go paintballing.
