The Flatline Barrel System is the first production back spin barrel ever produced. The principle behind the system is Tippmann's newly designed slightly curved barrel, which applies centrifugal force to the ball, creating backspin. Not only does this system offer increased accuracy and distance but also offers flat trajectory for thick brush and canopy play. By minimizing trajectory of the ball and increasing accuracy, you increase the amount of targets which would ordinarily be out of range. this flatline is so awsome i think is the best barrel i could never use than any other product cause this is everything i need
 Great range, mediocre accuracy July 22, 2008
The Flatline barrel will give you unsurpassed range (usually 25% more than other markers) and an unbelievably level trajectory, but this comes at the expense of accuracy. My first time using it out of the box I was getting a 4' spread at about 125' - not bad, but not marksman either.
This barrel is good if you use it for suppressive fire - when you fire to keep people down rather than hit them. The extreme range of the Flatline keeps you out of harm's way, and its loud report (the barrel has no ports for sound suppression) keeps them focused on you while your teammates flank them.
The end-of-trajectory dropoff is also useful for taking out people in bunkers - aim it so that the dropoff occurs right over the bunker, raining paint down on the unsuspecting player behind cover.
Make no mistake, the Flatline is not the be-all-end-all of barrels. If you're a heavy gunner in the woods, however, this will be your best friend.
