4 out of 5 stars Good gun for low dollar   August 31, 2008
A lot of people talk crap on this gun mainly because its low on price, paintball snobs think you should drop $200 on a marker. Well Im here to tell you that I have owned this gun for 2 years now, with no mods, and it works great. For the price you get a dependable gun that compares to tippman and spyder. I play with paintballers who use the a5 and got the apex barells, using special hoppers with expensive mods and my tac 5 has worked just as well. I've had no air leaks, I have only chopped a ball twice, and needed very little maintenence. If you take care of this gun it will take care of you. I highly recommend this gun.

2 out of 5 stars I expected better from JT...   December 22, 2005

At first I thought this gun would be great because of all the features, esp. since you can custom fit everything on it... But the quality is crap! First I tried to switch the feed port to the right, and then found out it's not as easy as advertised. Then I find out you don't just use a regular elbow, you have to use their threaded elbow thing (included) which is where the real trouble began. I screwed it on then attached that "Gorilla Grip" that goes on top. I used an old loader that was worn down and everything but I still had to struggle to get it in. And when I got it in, I had to force it so hard that the whole feed port unscrewed. (The part that's NOT supposed to ever come out.) So now, thanks to the P.O.S. "threaded elbow and gorilla grip" I had to pour loc-tite on everything and put it back in the "assault" position. (Straight-up.) I mean if they hadn't off made all that stupid crap so complicated (with gorilla grips and special elbows) it would've worked fine! Then I take it out to shoot... Oh boy! The barrel is worse than most stock barrels (I planned on getting a new one anyway.) and within a few shots I notice a big air-leack where the hose attaches to the bottomline. So I remove the tank and go inside to tighten it and the damn thing won't move! I tried screwing it in both directions as hard as I could while it was completely removed from the gun to no avail. So... I had to pour loc-tite all over that too. Now I'm stuck with this until next "Holiday Season" when I can get a new one. I'd recommend Tippman 98 Pro Custom or anything else with a good reputation for quality. Definitely spend an extra few bucks so you won't end up like me. My old VL Orion has WAY better quality than this and the stock barrel was alot better. (Still not as good as aftermarket though.) So in conclusion, this gun would've been awesome if they hadn't of tried to complicate attaching a loader and if they'd paid more attention when assembling these. I did give it 2 stars because I do like the feel of this gun and hopefully it'll do me some good when I work out the many "kinks." (Or atleast last till next year!)
