Fun and good starter gun March 27, 2008 6 out of 6 found this review helpful
Okay, so here's the deal - I just got in from shooting 500 rounds on all the different firing modes and compared it with my other Autococker (upscale and expensive gun) and my Tippman 98 Custom. I shot all three guns with solely N2 instead of CO2 as it's more reliable.
Pros 1) It's 40 bucks!!!! 2) The automatic settings are a ton of fun, and it does shoot incredibly fast. I went through 200 rounds in under 20 seconds. Although fun, it is a complete waste to actually play on full automatic both for air and pricey paintballs. 3) It's incredibly light, easy to move and has a front loader - a mechanical feeder is a must for this gun, don't bother with gravity. 4) Easy to clean and a good gun for a beginner 5) It's *not* part of the 110 package, it's better to buy a mask, tank, hopper that you prefer separately, you'll be able to use this over and over again even if you change guns so get what you want.
Cons 1) **LOUDEST** gun, I've ever shot. If you are the type to hide, don't bother everyone will find you. But if you are quick and play on your toes this sound shouldn't matter. 2) It is significantly LESS ACCURATE than my autococker, I could hit a tree from about 80-100 feet away 8 times out of 10 with the autococker and 3 times out of 10 with the Charger. This could be due to the inexpensive barrel compared to my Dye barrel for the Cocker. But none the less, this probably isn't the type of gun you want to start upgrading by buying a better barrel, if that's your game buy a better gun. 3) It's made by Brass Eagle - not known for their "quality" equipment but I'm willing to give them the benefit of the doubt of this gun 4) Started to break balls on full auto
Bottom Line I would definitely still buy this gun as a backup or to loan a friend I drag to the field. It's incredibly fun with the different settings (stick to the manual or 3 shot bursts). A decent gun for a beginner or someone who doesn't play often, worst comes to worst it's better to buy a 40 dollar gun to start playing and then buy a second later.
