For me, I bought this vest in order to hide my large chest, although my waist is 36", my chest still remains 38-40", so is extremely noticable when wearing t-shirts or even normal vests. This product has literally given me a new lease on life! I'd lost 6 stone already but then found i was left with bumps here and there and a chest which would not vanish!! I was sceptical about this product at first, questioning if it really does work, but i can say from my experience its amazing, just to be able to go out and not have to keep crossing your arms or wear baggy clothes!!! It does also aid my stomach which isnt flat to say the least, and gives an overall slimmer more toned appearence. I ordered a medium, and its a task getting into but after a week or so it takes less than 5 seconds! I recommend this to anyone self conscious about their chest!!!!! (I now own like 5!)

The compression shirt is nice. I have not worn it yet, but it is thicker than the ones I used to buy.

Great for compression. Keeps everything under wraps if you know what I mean. I have three compression shirts from Underworks and they work. They are also really customer service oriented. I've always received my items on time etc. generally an all around excellent experience with Underworks.

This product works as represented.
Many people (including one of the other reviewers) misunderstand the purpose of a compression shirt. It is not a "girdle" or a "corset" for men, or, a "truss." The purpose of the shirt is to compress your muscles during a workout, while whisking away the moisture, to keep them cool. This helps to protect your muscles and skeleton from injury during vigorous workouts.
This shirt also flattens my stomach, but, I stay fit and stay away from simple carbohydrates (such as alcohol and sugar). My abdomen is manageable.
I am 54 years old and have maintained my fitness most of my life. It is a simple fact of nature that men and women's metabolism slows down as we mature. Our fat and muscle cells become more efficient in storing energy and water. Most of these cells are located in our abdomen, hips and thighs.
As we mature, if we continue to consume simple carbohydrates, such as alcohol and processed sugar (as opposed to sugar from fruits, grains and vegetables) those carbohydrates will store very efficiently in fat cells around our abdomen. If we minimize our intake of these, then, our abdomen can properly regulate the amount of water in the fat cells, and, a simple, healthy exercise routine will keep us looking fit, as well as being fit. This shirt helps immensely in maintaining an appearance of fitness if it accompanies actual modest efforts to remain fit.
After a long day sitting at a desk, water and other ingested "stuff", tends to settle in my midsection and can increase my waisteline by an inch or two. This shirt does a marvelous job of re-distributing the water-inflated cells, around my waist and midsection, so that I can maintain a healthy, and fit, appearance all day long.
The product is very well-designed and constructed. The full cotton composition allows for breathing and drying of persperation. I highly recommend it for anyone who wants to modestly tune their appearance while staying fit. It is well worth the price.
"Beer Bellies" won't find it of much help.

Suffocatingly tight around the chest, not tight at all around the stomach. If you are buying this shirt to hide your fat belly, DON'T! It doesn't work for that at all, my stomach hung out exactly the same, the shirt literally did nothing to disguise it. My uncle bought one and it was just as useless for him. Also, besides being useless, the fabric it is made out of is murder on your body hair, it pinches and pulls any hair on your back, chest, neck, etc something fierce. It's like that itchy feeling around your neck collar after a haircut, except all over your body... Definitely avoid this shirt if you're getting it to make your belly look thinner, or if you have body hair.
