The gloves, more like gauntlets, are sturdy leather just as described. I tried them on as soon as I received them and was very impressed. I have yet to use them in an actual Paintball match which was the purpose I had in mind when I ordered them, but they could be used for anything.. A+
In conclusion, I would suggest you go for a Large/L or Extra Large/XL. The sizes seem to be a bit downscaled.
