Product Description
A new era of inline skates has begun. Bont put a lot of extra effort into making this boot as stiff as a racing boot but still allowing forward flex. The Semi Race is a high performance skate that fits into the niche between race skates and trainers. It has more padding than a race skate, but less than a traditional trainer. The base is super stiff and responsive thanks to the 3 point mounting. The frame is extruded 6000 series, and the axles and spacers are machined, not punched. The 7075 axles are one piece. Bont introduced the 3-point system earlier this year on its high-end racing skates. The system uses a frame that attaches to the skate at three points, rather than the standard two. This give the skate added stiffness, which means less metal and carbon in its construction, and thus, less weight.The entire boot including the foot bed and tongue are heat moldable. This is an exciting development for the sport because skaters can now jump straight into a high cut performance skate without having to learn to skate in a soft skate that lacks performance. The boot & frame are less than half the weight & almost twice the strength of a traditional training skate thanks to the composite base and (1) piece construction. Forward flex was a priority in this design. Bont was listening to the skaters when they designed this skate! If your skate doesnt bend forward it is painful & you cant get into the skating position. The Semi-race has been designed so you can race in it, so forward flex is a necessity. Bont has implemented a number of features that allow for this forward flex: V's cut between the two lace covers Nothing covers the flex point The back of the boot is soft to allow it to bend forward The tongue is narrow at the flex point so it can easily bend Newly designed last that puts your foot in a forward leaning position The boot has 12mm of pitch to help you lean forwardA new era of inline skates has begun.
