Handy tool to have August 31, 2008 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
I have used this a number of times and have found it very usefull. Pros: extremely portable (no need for compressor), light, easy to use, can use either a 9 or 20oz bottle, CO2 is readily available at most Wal Marts. Cons: Can go through CO2 fairly quickly (20oz bottle a must), storage case not well thought out (Does not go back in without complete disassembly). Even with the cons it is a valuable asset to the tool collection and simplifies simple jobs.
Product Review January 27, 2008 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
Love this product. I'm in technical theatre. Really makes life in my profession much easier. I don't have to carry around hoses or air compressors. It's fantastic. CO2 refills can be pricey, But all in all it's great.
JacPac Regulator January 12, 2008 2 out of 2 found this review helpful
Works very well, simple to use and easy to get refilled through a store that sells paint ball supplies. Would highly recommend it for small jobs that you don't want to lug a full compressor around.
Price vs Quality December 17, 2007 26 out of 26 found this review helpful
I was a little disappointed with this, the plastic housing and belt clip are cheap and very flimsy, a better grade plastic and a metal clip would have been a better choice if you were going to market this as workman's tool. I could not get the Co2 cylinder filled at the welding supply shop since they did not have the fitting or scale to fill so small a cylinder, so I ended up at the paintball sport shop which did fill the cylinder for $2 and could sell me an extra backup cylinder either an 8 or 12 oz. So I bought the 12oz for $20 and filled it to for $2. My first time attaching the supplied 10oz cylinder to the regulator, it gushed and leaked badly I found that the O ring seal on the bottle was getting pinched and torn, they give you 5 extra with the kit but they are cheap and gummy so every time I tried the same thing happened. I didn't expect to have to repair a brand new tool, a little aggravated with that fact I gave up on Jac pac's bottle, and I screwed in the cylinder I bought at the paintball shop and no problem, the O ring on that bottle seams to be made of a stiffer better quality material, I guess I'm going to have to buy seals at the paintball shop for the Jac Pac bottle to work. although the whole kit is worth the sum of its parts, this is not new or unique as they would like you to think. You can buy the Co2 bottles at the paintball store and a better quality regulator with higher pressure output from HyperFlo (google it) and a belt clip and hose from H.D. or Lowes.
First question I had, Does it work? Brad Nailer- of corse, they have very low air pressure and consumption. Trim nailer - yes, ran my bostitch FN60 no problem Roof nailer- yes, But did not sink all nail heads (Bostich N12) Framing nailer- yes, But did not sink any heads, 1/4" to " sticking up (Bostich N80cb) Palm nailer- yes, but air consumption may lead to freeze up due to compressed Co2
because of the compressed Co2 this will condensate and sweat around the regulator and fittings With the roof and framing nailer it acts as if your using too small of a compressor, but still it does work, carry your hammer with you and you don't have to haul out the compressor and hose, worth it for the convenience and time savings on smaller jobs and excellent for trim punchout.
