Product Description With today's gas prices everyone is more conscious of aerodynamics and performance. Yakima's Fairing gives you a sleeker, more aerodynamic shape while your vehicle is loaded. Plus, it's quieter!

Incorrect Clips received September 30, 2008 I ordered the Yakima roof rack with Q-Stretch kit, load stops, straps and fairing. I drive a 2001 Honda Civic Coupe. There is a lot of wind noise from the roof rack - the whole ceiling of the car vibrates - and I was hoping the fairing would reduce it a little.
I ordered it from Amazon LLC and it arrived with incorrect mounting clips. Because of the shape of the fairing, the two inner clips are shorter than the two outer clips. I received four outer clips - and it appears no fairing made by Yakima requires four of these clips. There is no way to install the fairing with the mounting hardware received.
I contacted Amazon (using the 'call you back' feature - which was great), but the woman on the phone had no idea at all what I was talking about and kept asking what needing fixing on my vehicle. She said I could return the product for a refund and then order a new one, as there was no way I could just get new mounting hardware.
I then contacted Yakima directly. Within a few minutes, the service rep had ordered a new mounting kit for me free of charge. I'm currently waiting for it and will update when (and if) received. Yakima service (twice contacted) has been absolutely fantastic - it's great to talk to a real person who knows what they are talking about.
Receiving incorrect mounting hardware isn't good, and Amazon's solution by returning everything and reordering the fairing isn't necessarily time effective.
Looks Great - Noise Still A Problem May 23, 2008 2 out of 3 found this review helpful
Okay, this "fairing" looks cool on top of my Toyota Tacoma and it hides the roof rack. However, it does very little to cut down on wind noise. I was really surprised at how much noise it still allows. Instead of thumping the roof, the wind now whooshes loudly. If you don't have the music on, it takes some getting used to. Without the ski rack on top, it is easily stolen by unscrewing the bolts (although I don't know who would steal a 38" X 3.5" piece of plastic). It's amazing what we buy to make things look "cool". Thule also makes nice looking `fairings'.
