| Editorial Reviews:
Amazon.com Product Description The most technically advanced snow helmet Giro has made yet, the Omen gives you complete control in all weather conditions. The helmet offers in-mold construction that fuses a tough polycarbonate outer shell with an impact-absorbing foam liner to produce extra durability without excess weight. The fusion process also allows Giro to sculpt better ventilation systems, making the Omen lighter and cooler than traditional helmets. The helmet's EPS liner, meanwhile, offers a consistent performance across a wide range of conditions. Gram for gram, the liner absorbs more impact energy than other liner materials, plus it's incredibly light. Perhaps the most refreshing feature, however, is the thermostat ventilation control, which allows you to custom tune the airflow by pressing a single button on the outside of the helmet. No other system is faster or easier to adjust, and nothing is more effective at keeping you fresh. Add in Giro's wind tunnel ventilation--which combines 14 active vents with exhaust channels in the helmet's liner to force cool, fresh air over and around your head while forcing stale, warm air out--and you'll enjoy the backcountry in complete comfort The Omen is outfitted with Giro's In Form fit system, which makes it easy to dial in a custom fit in seconds--even with gloves on. An ergo-friendly dial at the base of the helmet provides up to 6 cm of fit/feel adjustment and enhanced stability. The system also offers vertical tuning of the helmet's fore/aft position to match different goggles and head shapes. Equipped with removable earflaps for additional temperature control, the Omen is available in three different fits: small (52 to 55.5 cm), medium (55.5 to 59 cm), and large (59 to 62.5 cm). About Giro Working late nights in his garage, designer/bike racer Jim Gentes created the first lightweight adult cycling helmet in 1985. Friends at NASA helped tune the final helmet shape and vent placement, and the result was the Giro Prolight, a helmet that was better looking than traditional designs while offering a superior fit and still met the industry's toughest safety standards. Plus, it was half the weight of traditional helmets. Since then, Giro has advanced its helmets, many of which have set the standards for styling, function, and innovation for progressive, performance-oriented riders on dirt, pavement, and snow. Giro helmets are worn by millions of riders, cyclists, skiers, and snowboarders around the world. Young-bloods and old-timers; hard-cores, heshers, and hipsters; rookies, experts, and a few regular Joes too--in fact, pretty much anyone that appreciates superior fit and function, cutting edge styling, and the very best ideas you get in a helmet.
