Amazon.com Product Description Combining attractive detailing with high-level performance, the Giro Ember snow helmet offers all-mountain versatility to female skiers. The helmet offers in-mold construction that fuses a tough polycarbonate outer shell with an impact-absorbing foam liner to produce extra durability without excess weight. The fusion process also allows Giro to sculpt better ventilation systems, making the Ember lighter and cooler than traditional helmets. The helmet's EPS liner, meanwhile, offers a consistent performance across a wide range of conditions. Gram for gram, the liner absorbs more impact energy than other liner materials, plus it's incredibly light. Perhaps the most refreshing feature, however, is the 15 super-cool vents, which pull cool, fresh air into the helmet while pushing heat and stale air out. By maximizing efficiency and optimizing the vent shapes, the collective cooling power of the vents helps regulate your core temperature and keeps you feeling fresh all day. Other details include Weatherstrip vent plugs that let you completely seal out snow and cold air, an adjustable padded chinstrap that helps keep your helmet firmly in place, and an internal height adjustment mechanism that compensates for different head shapes and goggle sizes. The Ember is outfitted with Giro's In Form fit system, which makes it easy to dial in a custom fit in seconds--even with gloves on. An ergo-friendly dial at the base of the helmet provides up to 6 cm of fit/feel adjustment and enhanced stability. The Ember--which is compatible with an optional TuneUps in-helmet audio system (sold separately)--is available in three different fits: small (52 to 55.5 cm), medium (55.5 to 59 cm), and large (59 to 62.5 cm). About Giro Working late nights in his garage, designer/bike racer Jim Gentes created the first lightweight adult cycling helmet in 1985. Friends at NASA helped tune the final helmet shape and vent placement, and the result was the Giro Prolight, a helmet that was better looking than traditional designs while offering a superior fit and still met the industry's toughest safety standards. Plus, it was half the weight of traditional helmets. Since then, Giro has advanced its helmets, many of which have set the standards for styling, function, and innovation for progressive, performance-oriented riders on dirt, pavement, and snow. Giro helmets are worn by millions of riders, cyclists, skiers, and snowboarders around the world. Young-bloods and old-timers; hard-cores, heshers, and hipsters; rookies, experts, and a few regular Joes too--in fact, pretty much anyone that appreciates superior fit and function, cutting edge styling, and the very best ideas you get in a helmet.
