4 out of 5 stars the real battle test, Great vest with some passable flaws   October 27, 2008

Battle Tested Vest test
Look of product
This vest features a good design and look, the dull green color is perfect for camouflage in field and low light areas, let me tell all you stealth wannabes right now BLACK IS NOT CAMOUFLAGE nature has nothing that is black unless its Tar, take a cue from the military and do with greens browns and grays. So it works for that. Also goes good with military fatigues or whatever the heck you wanna dress up as.
Padding placement
Solid protection on the upper arms, back, chest and shoulders, but there is a gap in the armor where your sternum is, the back of the shoulders, and absolutely no love for the flanks or midriff, why they did that? I don't know, bad design idea there, but it does provide better protection then most stuff I have had. Good coverage but it loses points here for the lack of padding in some areas
Fitting
I am a thin guy, being so; I bought the small large set. Good idea cause large would be way to big on me, it's a little loose then I would like, I thought it would fit like an under armor shirt, but its more of just a close fitting T shirt. Whatever, it works good marks here

Impact test, airsoft
Took my 400 fps airsoft rifle, stuck it to my chest on the padding and fired. It works, nicely I might add. The padding reduces impact to a far more tolerable level and frankly only the biggest wimp would feel it still feel unprotected where the padding is set. The padding is perforated, and covered by the shirt fabric, yet it does not get chewed into by pellets like some more expensive brand vests do. Good marks here, a fun little note here that sometimes when you get hit by the pellets they log into the perforations of the armor. Just brush them away or keep them in and see how many you can get riddled with.
Impact test, Paint ball
Took all but the hardest hits in stride, most of the balls bounced off....till my friends ramped up the guns all the way... still with minimal bruising considering. I give it good marks, except I got hit in the chest right where the aforementioned armor gap is. That was wonderful (sarcasm) though a nice shot from the guy who pegged me. Good marks here for impact testing on where the armor was. Again
Impact test, martial arts training swords
Yes I know it wasn't designed for blunt impact reduction from melee weapons, but I must say that it did work quite well for padding under my martial arts uniform, fair points to it as it works, though its light armor and not exactly kendo material, this test is an extra and will not go for or against the stars I give it.
Impact test, weight carrying
I put this in cause I noticed the shoulder protection does a fair job of making your pack more comfortable. Good marks here.
Breathability test
This shows how well the armor is designed here, it breaths like a regular shirt, with mild ballistic protection. This isn't something that is going to keep you warm, but it's not going to add to you being over heated. Good marks to it.
Customer service of company
Was good, I called them up, checked my order, found out they were sending me a large, I told them I wanted a small and they complied, easy, simple, good marks to them, a happy shipment that arrived easily and without damage, product came with its own hanger which is a plus as I don't have to buy more for just this.
The Over All
Over all, I am satisfied with the product. I like what features it does offer and while it could be designed better, I think that about most anything. It is a good light armor, especially to wear under a tactical vest. A not bad look at a good price compared to some other stuff I've seen, low key colors for military like operations. Buy it if you have the cash and need some padding, it shouldn't let you down. But of course there is always the occasional bum product you may get... but they should give you no problems in getting it replaced.

5 out of 5 stars Bulletproof You betcha!!!   August 17, 2008

I bought this and played my first game of paintball. We played Woodsball, scenario ball and Speed ball. In ALL of the games I had several bounce off of me with no breakage. In speed ball I lasted long enough to make it 4 on 1 and I still had close range balls bounce. I felt little to nothing! GREAT PROTECTION!!!
