Good Value, Durability and Performance September 4, 2008 Our bocce club has three courts and acquired three of these sets. They have been used regularly since we opened the courts about four months ago and each set gets about ten hours of play per week on average. The balls are the international standard diameter of 107 mm but are about 10 oz heavier than the "standard" weight of 920 grams (32 oz). Is that a bad thing? Not really if those are the only ones you will be using. The extra weight gives them a bit more momentum. If you are a tournament player and play at different courts, you will be using the balls that the host provides at the tournament and chances are that the weight and possibly the diameter will be different than these. So, in my mind, the only way that this set could be better would be if the balls were 32 oz instead of 42.5 oz.
Bocce Ball anyone? September 3, 2008 The perfect game for the whole family - we play our own "version" of Bocce Ball. 8 people get a ball - 2 to a team - and you can either throw the "cue" ball 3 feet or 300 feet - closed to the ball after everyone is done throwing gets a point. If the two closest are on the same team, then that team gets two points. Good exercise and camaraderie.

Pretty and durable July 5, 2007 6 out of 6 found this review helpful
Case is ok looking with a cardboard insert to keep the balls sturdy, but the case is not what your buying. The Bocce balls are beautiful to look at. They feel and weigh excellent and are very durable. My family gets very competitive and usually tosses the balls a few feet in the air landing on other balls to knock them out. No chips, cracks, or even a scuff mark. Buy this set if your a serious player or just getting into Bocce.
Broken Ball - only used it twice June 18, 2007 7 out of 7 found this review helpful
Purchased this set from Target while on sale for $39.99. Figured it would be a nice set with the name and the nice bag. Used it on the beach the first day and was a blast. Used the set on day 2 and noticed one of the red balls was cracked and split down the middle. I would say we played a total of 4 full games before noticing the crack. It would only be a matter of time before this ball and others completly break apart. I am taking this back to the store and am going to try a different set. The balls are heavier than I expecte with this set too. I believe Sportcraft? makes this set for Eddie Baeur but could be wrong.
