Amazon.com Product Description Your Bushnell Pinseeker 1500 is an advanced premium laser rangefinder comprised of digital technology that allows range readings from 5 to 1,500 yards. Measuring 1.7 by 5.1 by 3.7 inches, the 10-ounce Pinseeker 1500 delivers superb and accurate range performance to +/- one yard. The Pinseeker 1500 features Selective Targeting Modes, superb optical quality, 100% waterproof construction, and Bushnell's RainGuard coating. The Pinseeker 1500 emits invisible, eye-safe, infrared energy pulses. Its Advanced Digital microprocessor and ASIC chip (Application-Specific Integrated Circuit) results in instantaneous and accurate readings every time. Sophisticated digital technology instantaneously calculates distances by measuring the time it takes for each pulse to travel from the rangefinder to the target and back. The ranging accuracy of the Pinseeker 1500 is plus or minus one yard under most circumstances. The maximum range of the instrument depends on the reflectivity of the target. The maximum distance for most objects is 1,000 yards, while for highly reflective objects the maximum is 1,500 yards. The Pinseeker 1500 features a powerful 7x magnification monocular for viewing your target. Optics are fully multi-coated, allowing maximum light transmission for optimum brightness, superb resolution, and contrast for a clear vivid image even in low-light conditions such as dusk or dawn. A liquid crystal display (LCD) is mounted within the optical system and, when activated, displays a reticle for targeting, yards and meters, and Mode indicators. Laser Rangefinder Features Standard with Automatic Scan (A) Scan across the course while viewing a continuously updated LCD display of the distance between you and your target. Meters/Yards (B) You can quickly choose between these standard measuring units with a simple press of a button. Reticle (C) The distance to objects targeted in these crosshairs will be displayed on the Distance Readout with the press of a button. Battery Indicator (D) Flashes when battery power is low. Target Quality Gauge (E) Gauge indicating amount of energy pulses being received back from the target. Pinseeker 1500 Targeting Modes BullsEye Geared for close-range use, this mode acquires the distances of small targets and game without inadvertently measuring background target distances. When more than one object is acquired, the closer of the two objects is shown on the LCD display. . Brush Ignores the foreground, such as brush, boulders and tree branches, and provides distances on the LCD display to background objects only. . PinSeeker Designed exclusively with the bottom of the cup in mind, this mode allows easy acquisition of the flag without inadvertently capturing background target distances. When more than one object is acquired, the closer of the two objects is shown on the LCD display. . Slope+/- Measures slope, +/- one degree of angle, and compensated range, based upon ball trajectory and type of club used. All shown on LCD display. . Laser Rangefinder Tech Talk A laser rangefinder is a distance-measuring instrument that uses laser technology to calculate the distance to targeted objects. Accuracy is +/- 1 yard, and the distance is displayed instantaneously on a built-in, through-the-lens Liquid Crystal Display. How a Laser Rangefinder Works Bushnell's Yardage Pro rangefinders use an invisible, eye-safe Class 1 Laser beam (as classified by the FDA) which is "bounced" off distant objects with the press of a button. Then, the rangefinder's high-speed digital clock measures the time it took for a laser beam to reach a target and return to the unit. Next, using advanced digital electronics, the rangefinder instantly calculates the distance within +/- 1 yard and shows the range in either yards or meters on a through-the-lens LCD Display. The entire process is so fast that less than a second elapses between the time you press the button to generate a laser beam to the time the exact range to your target is displayed. Reflectivity of Target Types Because rangefinders "bounce" a laser beam off the target in order to take a measurement, their range is partially determined by the reflectivity of the target. In other words, hard or "reflective" targets -- like a rock cliff or semi-truck -- can be measured at greater distances than soft surface targets, like a deer. Ranges for moderately reflective targets, like trees, fall somewhere in the middle. Most experienced hunters will use their rangefinder to frequently estimate ranges to near and distant landmarks before they actually encounter a game animal. By "pre-measuring" ranges to spots where a trophy is likely to appear, they can concentrate on making an accurate shot when the moment of truth arrives.
Product Description Fore! Where's that cup in relation to your pin? How far do you need to drive the golf ball? The secret to a good round of golf is making accurate shots. That isn't very easy when the pin is competing with the trees around it for your rangefinder's attention. The Bushnell 20-5103 Yardage Pro Gold Pinseeker 1500 has a powerful 7x magnification monocular with bright 26mm objective for viewing your target. Unit Dimensions - 1.7 by 5.1 by 3.7 inches, 10 ounces Includes battery, case, strap

not tourney legal plus just what is the average trajectory? June 3, 2008 I am a near scratch golfer and have been playing golf for over 40 years. I recently bought the Bushnell 1500 Pinseeker with Slope. The technology behind this product is impressive but there are two points I'd like to make here. After trying out the product this is my understanding on how the slope is calculated. The plus or minus yardage from the actual yardage is determined through some algebraic formula based on the actual yardage, the relative level you are to the target, and the trajectory on an average ball flight from that distance. Huh? Ok, what is the average trajectory of 120 yards or 210 yards for a shot? One person may hit a five iron from 150 yards and another may swing a wedge. Two different flight patterns from the same distance. I am a longer than average player to begin with. I hit a very high trajectory for most of my shots, including long irons, even when compared with players who are as long as I am. So not knowing what formula this is based on and what average trajectory, it still remains a guessing game (as to plus or minus yardage) and therefore defeats the purpose on principle. In my opinion it's a good gimmick but that's all. Secondly, (and this is trump card for me) I was under the false impression that I could just "turn off" the slope feature during amateur tournament play thereby making the device legal. Unfortunately, this is not the case. In every aspect of golf the honor system applies but in this particular area the U.S.G.A. apparently doesn't trust you. The Pinseeker with Slope is illegal to use whether the slope feature is activated or not. Again, you cannot just turn this feature off and be in compliance. So, If I could to do it all over again I would save the $50 and get the Pinseeker without the slope. Knowing the actual yardage is a great tool and I highly recommend the Pinseeker as it will improve your game but leave the slope.
Bushnell Pinseeker 1500 rangefinder w/slope feedback May 25, 2008 Great product. Looks solid. Easy to use. Quick to get yardage. Took less than 5secs to usually obtain a yardage even if you have shaky hands. Battery life is great. I've used this for 8 rounds already, and haven't replaced the battery. Cons: A little expensive.
loving it May 25, 2008 Great when it is not windy. I like the fact that you can get yardage to the flag as opposed to just the middle or front of green with gps type devices. May be nice to have both gps and this for the complete experience.:)
A great invention! May 3, 2008 What club to use? Often it is difficult to determine the distance to the pin due to many variables such as course markings (or lack thereof), optical illusions, etc. Now I just take a look with this rangefinder and all the guesswork is gone. It is very easy to use and seems to be very accurate. I love this thing!
A Good Friend on the Links April 12, 2008 I recently puchased the Bushnell Pinseeker 1500 to replace my Leica Rangefinder. This is my third rangefinder and definitely the best one. It is so much easier to lock onto the flag with this upgraded rangefinder. The pinseeker locks in quickly and accurately. I used to take 3 readings to be sure I had the flag and not the background, but that's no longer necessary. The slope calculator is great too. I am a roaming golfer who rarely plays the same course twice in a season. This tool really helps me select the right club when I play from differing elevations.
This is a great supplement to my Skycaddie SG5 GPS. The GPS is fast and works great when I can't see the green, but the laser is still more accurate and lets you pick out the range to various targets like traps, lakes and woods which helps me keep from hitting into danger on courses I don't know well. I'm glad I've got it on my bag.
