These things are awesome!! August 24, 2008 I love them. Before I bought them I was worried about these being a little to heavy for my skinny ankles. I am 5' 4" and 112 pounds and love them. I used my dads weights kind of like these but older version and what an improvement these are from those. Nice soft material that fit snuggly. Perfect for kick boxing excersices and getting that perfect tush.
I love them! August 20, 2008 These are excellent, just make sure you don't cinch them to tight. They are great for just doing activites around the house or if you are going on a long walk. Although they are very bulky and visible.
Heavy, just walking with these is a great workout, with it was solid core. July 15, 2008 Very sturdy construction as far as the Velcro fastening straps and the two sets of two steel D-rings for each straps are concerned; good overall durability. As mentioned by other reviewers, the pouches for the iron-based sand (I checked with a magnet) are not quite as sturdy as the fastening straps. The pouches are closed at the top with a long Velcro strip that goes from end to end on the ankle weights. Ten pounds per legs is VERY heavy and I would recommend building up to it. I'm lazy so I never took the weights out to adjust the weight, I was tired just walking around with these for a little bit, but now I'm fairly comfortable walking in them and my walking speed is getting up to normal. I have not tried jogging for any length of time with these on, although I do jump rope with these on - good sweat. Back to the product - it's great for the price and very durable overall, but the iron-sand has a tendency to shift and settle and makes the weights a bit uncomfortable or painful to wear when it chafes against the ankle bones (inside bones for me). These are also pretty large and bulky so getting them to strap on tightly is a bit of an issue, I'm not tiny, but not huge, 5'6" & 180 pounds, but the weights are just a tad too big and have a tendency to settle on my ankle bone. Using these with mid-top or high-top sneakers should help support some of the weight away from the ankle bone (I'm wearing mid-tops) I wish it was solid core to reduce shifting and bulkiness.
decent for the money July 13, 2008 ok product for he money. complaints. Even with just a couple weights they sit atop the ankles and are uncomfortable- even hurt. maybe a pad liner on the inside would improve this product. 2nd the weight packs are a bit difficult to insert. be carefull and patient, the material is thin and won't take alot of force. My trick ; put them in part way and then lightly shake the belt up and down. strange but it works. all around a good product for the money.
Bulky but works June 4, 2008 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
This product would be better for guys, but for small girls like me the straps don't really tighten enough, so they are really loose and bulky... but they are weight and its good to help out with my bad knee.
