The simple device uses the weight of your body leveraged against the doorframe, and requires that you have a doorway with trim. You can also do deep push-ups with the Door Gym by placing it on the floor. NO FASTENERS REQUIRED. And when used properly it will not damage doorway and can be installed and removed in 1 second. Door Gym door size requirements: Face molding around door: minimum 1" maximum 3". Molding distance from wall: minimum " maximum ". Wall thickness: minimum 4" maximum 6" (trim to trim). This DOOR GYM has been designed to fit residential (framed) doorways 24" to 32"(up to 45" with the extensions) and support up to 300 lbs. Ab loops and broad reach accessories sold separately. this chin up bar is easy to use. it works great, my friend loved it so much he made me buy one for him. if youre looking for a chin up bar and you live in a house with doors, then look no further!

I've had this item for a couple of weeks now. I think it's great! I read almost all of the reviews before deciding to order.
Some mention the hardware not being the right fit for the parts. Maybe that was true in earlier shippings, but the fasteners that came with mine were correct.
Also some people reviews mentioned it being difficult to assemble. Difficult??! The thing bolts together in about a minute or two; nothing complicated at all.
Does it stay in the door? Yes. No wobbling. It sits there solid.
You just have to read the product description carefully. it gives the door frame dimensions that it was designed for.
Highly recommended.

The bar works as described and is a quality item.
The problem comes when I want to vary my grip width, to do wide grip pullups. The bar does not have foam grips in that location (between the protruding handles and the end). I have to use weight lifting gloves to get any kind of grip in that location.

My 11 year old loves this. It's fun. She does it when she passes by. She couldn't do one in the beginning, but enjoyed building up slowly.
