If you're a beginning horseback rider, this is a very good helmet to start with.
It fits well, looks good, and it's ASTM / SEI certified means the manufacturers have taken great pains to keep its wearer's head safe.
Shop around though, you may get a better deal.

I used this helmet for many years in endurance riding and it functioned fairly well considering it's cheap price. It wasn't the best fit, however, and the outer shell tended to turn yellowish in the sun and develop tiny cracks. This helmet would be fine for a first time helmet user who only rides slowly and for brief periods of time. Anything more needs a better helmet. Troxel is a good brand and been around forever. They make a lot of quality helmets. Always buy the best one you can afford. It's an investment in safety.
