A shoe that looks as good as it works October 2, 2008 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
I wasn't sure if I wanted to go all out for clipless shoes, as the bike for which I purchased these shoes is a hybrid and I wasn't anticipating doing 'serious' biking. In the end, I decided to compromise and get a shoe that I could actually walk around in without 'stork stepping'. After several rides on the local paved trail, with refreshment and site-seeing stops requiring I actually walk around a bit, I am very happy I made the choice I did. I coupled these shoes with Shimano PD-M324 SPD dual platform pedals - another compromise to allow me to wear standard shoes for a quick errand rides in town - and I couldn't be happier. The fit (for me, anyhow) is superb, which makes for very comfortable riding. And, while still nothing like walking in street shoes, they are not uncomfortable for ambling about. I find I am in no great hurry to take them off at the end of the ride.
Nice intro to clipless July 19, 2008 6 out of 6 found this review helpful
Bought this at my LBS (local bike shop). I was looking to step up from toe clips and since I was buying a new bike it seemed like the perfect time to do that. My racing buddies advised against the road shoes and clips and told me that I would be happier with the SPD two bolt cleats. They were right. I much prefer the easier click in twist out. It only really took one ride for me to get familiar with it. Also the walk-ability of the mountain shoe is way better than the road shoes that my pals endure. When we walk around mid ride to get a beverage, I'm very comfortable and they are counting their steps. One day I may get serious and move up but for now I am very happy with these shoes. They fit great and work well. Also the happen to look nice. What a deal.
