Keep shopping November 9, 2008 Unfortunately, I had to give this product a star. There was no "no star" option. I bought an Airtower 1, this product could not seal a presta valve. After trying on two different bikes, four different tires, I knew that it wasn't the problem with the tube. I went back to the bike shop, returned the product. Unfortunately, he only carried blackburn pumps. The Airtower 2 can occasionally seal a presta valve, with difficulty. I've been cycling for 30 years, had many pumps, never had this kind of problem.
No probs yet! October 28, 2008 Bought the pump to be used mainly on a road bike. Only ride 1 or 2 times a week due to my travel schedule, so I didn't need a super expensive pump, but one that would do the job. This pump fufilled both needs. It feels sturdy and the metal feet make it very stable. It has a long enough hose, and slips easily on and off both presta and schrader valves (I bought cheap pump prior to this which stuck on the ribbed presta). I found it does tend to slip of the smooth presta stems but is easily held on by one hand, and I can still pump it up to 115 psi. with the other. As soon as I get my next flat I will switch to the ribbed valve stems so it doesn't bother me. Overall, a great value.
a pump with everything you need and nothing more July 8, 2008 2 out of 2 found this review helpful
This is a lower-end version of the 2008 model Blackburn pumps. I use this on presta valves to 120 psi (with a large gauge) with no trouble.
The downside of this pump is it's very basic. There are no rubber feet or rubberized handle. For a pump that gets the job done reliably and is used maybe once a week I personally feel those are features I can live without...especially at this price.
