Product Description The Wald 582 sets the standard for ingenuity when it comes to rear baskets. Mounting to the side of almost any rear rack, this nimble basket is the perfect size for packing 1-2 bags of groceries while balancing your load. When not in use, the base of the basket pivots up allowing the side walls to collapse. A simple clamp at the top of the side panels keeps everything secured while the basket is folded up to one inch thick

Great paired with electric bicycle for trips to grocery store! December 28, 2008 After selling our 2nd car to offload debt and become more green, I started to use my electric bicycle to get to the local grocery store. Although I had a basket in front, and an area in back, whenever I had a heavy load of groceries, my bicycle would tip and tilt and almost buck me off. At age 46, I really don't need to be bucked off an unwieldy bicycle!
My husband installed these, it took some doing, but once they were on, they work perfectly! My two bags are now evenly distributed along the REAR wheels, where they won't interfere with my steering of the bicycle. I LOVE them!
does the job December 24, 2008 My wife just gave these to me and I love them. Here are my pros and cons on the baskets.
Pros 1. Sturdy feel, does not rattle at all 2. Mounts easily, hardware worked fine for me 3. Holds standard paper or reusable grocery bag very well, holds a lot of stuff 4. folds out and then back up easily 5. takes up almost no space folded, and does not interfere with mounts for my co-rider or bike trailer, or with hanging my bike up 6. Always there, but not a glaring target for theft. 7. super handy
Cons 1. really should include lock nuts or washers, cheap and easy to replace on your own, though 2. no big deal at all, but must mount towards the back of rack for pedaling clearance 3. heavy 4. another nitpick, but it is a little harder to put my bike bag on my rear rack with these mounted
Pros are big and cons are small. I highly recommend the wald rear baskets. They greatly enhance the utility of my bike.
Very Handy December 11, 2008 Bought a set of 2 of these baskets. Only attached 1 at this time. Great for a bag of groceries or even a 12 pack. Attached easily...Added a few zip ties for added strength to carry beer and water. I also mounted a little further back than the picture shows. Your heel WILL hit the basket when you pedal if you don't.
Great Baskets! November 29, 2008 I used 3/16" Ancor Stainless Steel Cushion Clamps for a rattle free installation on my 1963 Schwinn Tiger which I use to commute to work. Big enough to hold my laptop, lunch bag and other stuff. Much better than a handle bar mounted basket; no weight on the bars for squirrely steering. Plus, they look period correct on that bike.

Very nice! November 11, 2008 They are wonderful. However it would have nice to know that I also needed to buy a brace to attach them. Perhaps you could put it under "customers that bought this also needed this" area. My husband had to use some creative engineering to attach them, but they're great!
