Ratchets suck February 12, 2008 7 out of 8 found this review helpful
I've been slacklining for a long time, and have always found cheap ways to set up a minimal system without resorting to buying expensive kits. This ratchet setup from Asana is a real ripoff. The total cost for something like this at a hardware store would be on the order of 30-40 dollars, not the exorbitant price that Asana charges. Furthermore, ratchets are a terrible way to tension the line as it damages the line. With the added weight of the ratchet onto the slackline, compared to a more minimal system, the line also becomes more awkward and resistant to feedback. Overall this is a poor product and I'm not sure how Asana is able to market it so well.
