4 out of 5 stars Compact, light weight, but expensive fuel tabs.   December 23, 2007

At 65 degrees, the burn time was 10 minutes, and boiled 18 oz of water in 8 minutes. So it is decent in warm weather.
I love the fact that it is so light weight and compact to carry. Fuel tabs are expensive if you use it often, but you can supplement it with candles when you are not in a rush to drink or eat something hot.

3 out of 5 stars only use as an EMERGENCY stove   June 24, 2005

I've just tried out the stove with the esbit fuel tabs. The fuel tabs burned for 7 minutes warming the pint of water to a scalding temperature, (not exactly boiling with bubbles). The package says the fuel tabs will burn for 12-15 minutes and bring my water to a boil. My conclusion is only use it for a emergency, as a back-up for another stove. I wanted to find something that would be good to bring to europe since most of the campsites there don't allow open fires. It's good I found it to be a good emergency stove.
