4 out of 5 stars Top quality stove - one of the best   December 30, 2007

This stove's build is top knotch. It lights easily and provides a good cooking temperature range. In direct comparison to the other popular models, the MSR Dragonly and Primus Omnifuel, I would place it equally as good as the Omnifuel and better than the Dragonfly.
Where the Dragonfly falls down is in the build quality by using cheap plastics, such as on the pump and valve controls. However it does have a fantastic temperature range with it's CoolFuel valve. It also has a very easy cleaning system, to clear the nipple and fittings of soot - just shake. So if you're careful it's still an excellent worker.
The Omnifuel is my favourite from all three as it is the only one which can run on gas canisters as well as bottles liquids. Outstanding build and design. Comes with three brass jets for all fuels and a tool to change/clean with.
But back to the main stove we're looking at here, the Nova+. Great construction - simple and strong and easily cleaned. This one uses a magnetic cleaning needle which gives a jet clean when the multitool is moved around close to the stove cup base. One thing which was a selling point for the Nova+ over the original, not forgetting the improved arms, is the fuel pipe adjuster. This gives you the opportunity to change heats up at the bottle - well away from the fire. You simply twist the fuelpipe and this gives a rapid adjustment to the cooking temperature. Safe too. The only thing I have found is that it pays to watch this pipe when the stove cools off as it tends to stick after cooling. I know another person who actually sent their stove back thinking that the fuel line had jammed. Well in truth it had, but only just through heat expansion and a strong turn freed it. Just bear that in mind.
So the Nova+ would be recommended as a simple to use, excellent quality stove. If you don't fancy idea of loose parts, within a rucksack for example, and have the room, then the newest model Hiker+ may be better suited. It's the same system, only in a folding solid box.

Hope this helps!
