5 out of 5 stars Great for Scouts   February 22, 2007
I did a lot of research on backpacking stoves and purchased one that appears to be identical to this one at REI called the Yellowstone. Many hard core backpackers are obsessed with shaving ounces and this one weights a few ounces more. However, they are sacrificing ease of use and stability. When on a Boy Scout campout, the last thing you want is for a pot to fall off a "pocket rocket" because the stove is unstable. This stove is pretty foolproof and pretty stable. I would recommend it for scout aged campers and for any situation where saving a couple of ounces or use of liquid fuel is not required.
