spit and rotisserie grill November 18, 2008 Overall the grill is great for the price. Its a bit unsteady so I secured it with some rocks to make it more stable. Its also little small but I couldn't find any larger sizes.
Needs improvement September 13, 2008 The paint is not fire resistant and burns off. The spit has a split fork design which stops it from turning 360 degrees. The adjusable height for the grill and spit is nice. I modified the desing to adjust the with to fit my fire pit and to accomidate an electric rotissery.
Great for Camp fire rings August 15, 2008 on temporary assignment in colorado and couldn't take the summer without bbq. so, i found this to fit my needs. the stand fits perfectly in the fire rings that we've encountered in the national park camp sites we've visited here in colorado. i have not experienced any issues balance, i've prepared full meals on the grill, beans (pot on grill), corn, steaks, and a full chicken, without worrying about the balance or having any issue with. the construction is durable it doesn't show any weaknesses at this point.
the grill locks in by screw and pin, the rotisserie locks in by screw. i've cooked a large chicken with no issues or slippage.
issues: 1) only quarter turns on rotisserie 2) rotisserie rod not 'locked' in (horizontally)so the rod may slip out when adjusting. (take a heat pad or the like just in case) 3) for me the pot hooks are only attachable to the top (rotisserie section), which really only makes them useful for keeping something warm.
Nice product for the price June 25, 2008 We purchased the rotisserie/grill for cooking in our fire pit at home, not for camping. We've only used it once, but it worked great and we look forward to using it much more. Seems pretty sturdy.
work horse December 25, 2007 This item arrived with 1/4 of the box ripped off and one of the pot hooks missing. I had trouble figuring out the "4 position" thing, and you could definitely lose a chicken in the fire if you aren't on task. Anyway, I marinated and cooked a large chicken. The setup fits perfectly into my 32" firepit. We lifted to add wood. We toasted rustic bread on the grill, and made bruscetta, while we turned the chicken. Heavy foil over the chicken kept the heat in. I found the grill study, versatile, the meal delicious, and a good time was had by all. Being able to adjust the grill ht was a plus. Only bummer is the rotisserie spike can slip out of the slot easily unless you're careful. No pamphlet, so maybe I'm missing a part there as well! Anyway, for the price it's a winner.
