Product Description This sturdy camp chair from ALPS Mountaineering is a versatile, "go anywhere" chair, perfect for sitting around the campfire, fishing your favorite stream, or relaxing in your own backyard. A sporty-looking alternative to your average folding chair, this one features a taller back, curved padded armrests, and an extra-wide seat to accommodate most body shapes and sizes. Its tough aluminum frame and 600 dernier polyester fabric make it as durable as it is comfortable and ideal for everyday use in all kinds of weather. the chair that goes to war November 9, 2008 Our son is a captain in the Army Aviation Corps. He flies Apache attack helicoptors. This is his second tour of duty in Iraq. He wrote us saying that his quarters were very close with no furniture except a bunk. He asked for a folding chair and picked one out on Amazon. He has not stopped talking about how great the chair is that we sent...right size, easy to fold up, comfortable, sturdy. It has made his time over there better. I guess the Alps Mountaineering chair has gone to a different kind of camp!

This chair is a keeper. It is lightweight but very sturdy for us hefty guys. Wife likes the look, silver frame with grey fabric. Great value for the money.
If you have an injured tailbone, this chair is for you! October 4, 2008 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
I had an infection in my spine that damaged cartilage in my lower lumbar region. I still have a lot of pain in that area and so most chairs are too uncomfortable for me. The seat portion of this chair is loose enough that it doesn't compress into my spine and strong enough for support as well. I use it as an everyday chair in my house. The portability will allow me to bring it with me when we are visiting family, thereby insuring that I will have a comfortable place to sit. I will be recommending this chair to a family friend that broke her tailbone and has trouble sitting because of it.
You get what you pay for. September 18, 2008 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
This is not an inexpensive chair, but when you see it and sit on it, you will understand why. It is sturdy, relatively light, and very comfortable for the type of chair that it is. You will never want to sit on one of those lightweight aluminum and plastic webbed ones again. Perfect for picnics, the beach, outdoor concerts on the lawn, fishing, etc. By now you have the picture--in my opinion, this is an excellent chair.
Great Chair, but a downside September 15, 2008 0 out of 1 found this review helpful
The new chair is great! It is very comfortable, folds down easily and looks really good. Excellent for people who are "not small." But...for travelling, it is hard to fold up. One way I tried to fold it resulted in closing my arms between the chair arms and seat mechanism (not recommended). The next method took 2 people. The chair would be highly recommended if it was easier to close while maintaining the stable feel while seated.
