I bought this for my daughter for our first camping trip and it worked perfectly..the kids were very amused with getting it to work by cranking instead of using batteries!

We bought this for my 3 yr old daughter. She loves it and sleeps with it at night using the dim light. I like it because we are not constantly wasting battery. But I have heard from others that after a while, you have to crank harder/longer to get light.

My 4 year old loves this flashlight. It appeals to his fascination with gadgets that light up and mechanical things in general, and it also allows him to keep a light with him in bed. The flashlight side is dim enough that I don't have to worry about it shining right into his or his younger brother's eyes and the nightlight gives off just enough light to make him feel happy without giving off so much that it's hard to sleep.
