Great pack, but bottles are too big October 19, 2008 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
As already pointed out by some of the other reviews, the pack itself is great. It holds lots of stuff and is very comfortable.
The bottles are BIG. What I'd like to be able to do it pull out the bottles and drink while I'm walking. When I try to do that I usually spill half of it all over myself, so I wind up stopping to take drinks.
Sturdy but big July 5, 2008 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
It's very well built. Extremely sturdy. Great size for camping or some hiking. The only reason I gave it 3 stars is because it is too big for my use. I wanted something I could take on a run. This is definitely not it. Either I wasn't paying attention to the dimensions or they were not listed. The actual size is the size of a back support a mover would use with a back pack attached to the front and two huge (1000 ml each) water bottles on each side. Remember a 24 oz water bottle is only 750 ml. And as the other reviewers have stated, you cannot substitute a 24 oz or smaller bottle because there is only one strap on the bottom so it would fall right through. The 1000 ml bottles are also attached to a bungee cord at top securing it tightly in its place. Any other bottle would not fit properly with this bungee because of the location of the cord. It seems it would be more comfortable for a taller person (over 6 ft), but definitely not for running no matter how tall you are.
Great construction and very versatile pack January 8, 2008 1 out of 4 found this review helpful
The pack is very well made and seems very sturdy. The bottles are great but as pointed out by other reviewers, the holders are customized to hold the bottles that come with the pack and don't lend themselves easily to store bought bottles (I personally see that as a positive to help limit polution and waste...). I gave 4 stars instead of 5 because the pack is a bit large for me (I am quite small around the waist so that will vary by customer) and I would have liked the bottles to be a bit more to the sides toward the hips, but that's probably a matter of taste... The pouch is surprisingly spacious and there are lots of compartments including extra zippered ones on the waste band itself to store ID and or money for instance. There is an opening to pass your headset wire if you like to carry your iPod in the pack. I also like that you can wear the pack with the pouch in front or in back depending on use: for instance, it feels more comfortable in the back when going for a bicycle ride, and in the front when hiking. Overall, a very good buy for the price.
LOVE THIS December 26, 2007 0 out of 1 found this review helpful
This is a great pack the only issuse that I found with it is that you have to use containers that are the same size as the bottles, if not the containers slip out. I added leather to the bottoms of the drink holders so that my smaller containers did not slip out. The pack holds a lot I was a little surprised at how big this was when it first came in but found that it is perfect for what I am using it for.
Made well, May be Good for hikers April 13, 2007 13 out of 19 found this review helpful
When the product came I realized that it wasn't what I was looking for in a fanny pack but I was impressed with its rugged construction. I needed a pack to walk around Disney World and thought the two water bottle holders would come in handy. I like to freeze my store bought water bottles so that they stay cold all day. The water bottles that come with this pack are double wide and have a wide top - meaning you can't wrap your lips around it like a store bought bottle. Plus you have to wash and refill them as opposed to just buying another Dasani. Unfortunately, you can't use the water bottle holder for anything much narrower than the included bottles because there is just a single strap across the bottom preventing their bottle from falling through but that wouldn't stop a regular 16 oz. job from slipping passed. So I'm returning mine, but if your looking for non breakable, wide mouthed water bottles, in a rugged waistpack then this is for you. PS for some reason the blue one is cheaper, at least when I bought it.
