This is a super workout September 2, 2008 I have a Wavemaster at home and bought one for a friend and his young kids to work out with. This is the best workout you can imagine. If you live in an apartment building it may be a little hard since it moves around. But if you have a place to put it its great and mobil as well.
Good merchandise July 10, 2008 The Wavemaster is a good piece of equipment. Though the top is not quite as big around as we thought, it works well to practice Tae Kwon Do. The delivery process was easy and it was delivered quickly. Overall, our experiences with Amazon have been great. Thanks
Good quality but with some real limitations June 5, 2008 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
This is a well made bag but as noted in other reviews it is no replacement for a good heavy bag.(a heavy, heavy bag)I bought this bag for my step kids who are into TKD. They are small 9 and 11 year olds so I thought the bag would be fine even with the well documented problem of it moving around. Well, not really. Even with some relatively light strikes the base moves all over the place. We have a rubber mat under it and finally stacked sandbags around it which slowed it down a bit. (and yes the base is totally filled with sand) If I hit or kick it I basically have to reset the thing after a few strikes and I am not Joe Frazer.
Now the good. It does take up very little space. If you placed it in a corner it might stay put. It also is impressively well made. If you have bought/used much boxing and other martial arts equipment you know there is a lot of just plain junk out there. This is definately not junk.
So as an adjunct to other equipment this is a fine addition especially if you need the space savings. Just depends on what you are using it for. Exercise, targeting of blows-fine, pick one up. If you want to work on really delivering blows then be careful or you will end up pulling your punches just to avoid the annoyance of the thing moving. And I should note that I picked mine up used for a third of new so I won't be complaining about price.
Takes a beating!! May 8, 2008 Bag is durable and can take a beating. The only complaint I can think of would be the time it takes to fill up the base with sand. Tilting several 60lbs bags to fill up the base is quite the workout in itself.
The unit definitely scoots across the floor when struck, but it's not enough to complain about unless of course you don't have much space for the bag.
I actually wanted another model punching bag (BOB) but didn't want to shell out the extra $200 for it. This is a great alternative and I'm not disappointed with my purchase.
For $100 Not Bad April 12, 2008 The wavemaster is alright for 100 bucks. If you fill it with water it's going to move a bit. I'm going to buy sand for mine and hopefully 250 lbs of sand won't move as much as water since water is a lot less static. good height range and very durable.
