Excellent...alot of fun, just what we expected September 7, 2008 We were looking for a compact water type craft to take with us in or on our new 40 ft. motor home so if we were camping at a lake or stream we didn't have to sit on the bank and just watch. We saw this Coleman (in the two person size) at an R.V. dealership and was impressed but decided that we liked the idea of the independance of us (my wife and myself) each having our own kayak. As I always do I looked on Amazon.com. They had both the 1-person sit on top Touring Kayak and the two seater....both at a much less cost than anywhere else (even less than at the "Coleman Outlet Store" near me). We LOVE them! We also live on a lake and now use them every morning. When we get ready to go on a trip we just deflate them, with the recharagable battery pump we also purchased from Amazon.com, and put the small deflated kayaks in a storage compartment in the motor home and reverse the process when we get to where we need them. They have proved to be durable, easy to operate (the back support is just great!) and a great way to get on the water and enjoy the wildlife and scenery. They have added a new demension to our outdoor experiences.
High quality inflatable kayak September 3, 2008 I purchased 3 Coleman Kayak's this year- 2 at on line auctions, and one through Amazon. First, the product is fantastic. I recommend buying the coleman inflator, because with that you can inflate one of these in less than 5 minutes, and you can deflate them just as quickly. The kayaks hold air very well, and are extremely easy to use. They appear to be very high quality for such an inexpensive item. We use them to float on streams and small rivers, and have never had a problem. They are easy to control and lots of fun. And, we get tons of comments every time we take them out!!
In the future, I'll check Amazon before the on line auction place. I ended up paying less through Amazon.
good value for the price September 1, 2008 My 10 year old son loved this boat when we got it. But even he says it's hard to get it to track straight. I highly recommend a full cooler in the front of the boat - otherwise, the front fin has no tracking power.
Coleman user for life!!! August 29, 2008 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
I am extremely impressed with my inflatable kayak and The Coleman CO. I used my kayak for a few weeks then during an outing a seal tore. I contacted Coleman and they replaced my kayak very quickly and with no charge. I love this product and Coleman. The first time I had kayaked was in this inflatable and it was one of the best experiences of my life. I would recommend this product and any other Coleman product to anyone anywhere. I look forward to being on the water constantly.
It's 'cute'... August 18, 2008 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
This kayak is my second inflatable and third kayak overall. I am not impressed. My first kayak was a hard kayak, which I carried aboard my sailboat and used all over the bahamas. I could go further distances, faster, in bigger winds and seas than I could when rowing the dinghy. The second kayak was a higher end ($500) inflatable. Not as good as the hard shell but more stowable. This coleman, well, it does fit into my small car when deflated, which is about all I can say for it. And the seat is comfortable. I'm an excellent rower/paddler and still found it difficult to make way against 10 knots of wind and a half knot current. Maybe a longer paddle with larger blades would help? Definitely to be used in flat water/calm winds/no current. It would be good for running down a slow stream with someone to pick you up at the end of it.
