REALLY small!! August 30, 2008 I just bought the fuel belt!! I bought the pink one and it is really cute, but the sad news is it is way too small. I bought the size medium and it is way too tight! Not good to have a muffin top over the fuel belt. I guess it makes you keep running to have to see that sight!! Great idea just remember to order a size bigger!!
Comfortable and fun July 31, 2008 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
The fuel belt is very convenient and extremely comfortable. The pouch is a bit small and can fit a fair-sized cell phone and a credit card or two but you probably couldn't get a Blackberry in there. The bottles themselves are quite cheezy, but adequate. I really enjoyed the feel of the belt; it's a dramatic improvement over any other water-carrying solutions I've tried in the past. However, the belt holds less than a litre of water, which is skimpy, so you need to be somewhere you can refill.

Marathon Savior April 6, 2008 3 out of 3 found this review helpful
I used the 4 bottle fuel belt for the entire training season for a marathon including on a half marathon race as a beginning runner. I got a medium, when I'm normally a small in running shorts, but that is because I like to wear it down on my hips. The small bottles are nice because they spread the weight more evenly. I usually use the front two to drink from, and when I finish those, I bring the two full bottles to the front. The pocket is expandable, and I can shove three gels and a chapstick in there. I've never had a bottle slip out as I've seen happen to many other people at races, but it does require two hands to put them back in, which I've gotten used to. The little elastic holder isn't really necessary. Over time, my bottles have begun to leak, but they still don't leak when I'm wearing it on a run, just if I put it on the ground without propping everything up. I'm not sure if I have the old or improved bottle.
I've found this is perfect for a half marathon since I load it with a little more concentrated sports drink and drink water at some aid stations. Since I don't want to carry more bottles for the next marathon, I'm going to buy a second set of bottles and have my family give me the second set at the half way point.
I'm a little lazy and haven't cleaned it promptly after a few runs, so a few of my bottles have a permanent sports drink smell, but they clean reasonably well just by putting a dish cloth inside and using a utensil to move it around in the bottle. Archaic, but they're still being used over a year later.
Works better as a two bottle belt February 15, 2008 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
I had a 36" waist so I bought the X-Large, which is the size all of my shorts were in. The belt was too big. I tightened it as much as I could, however you can only tighten it so much, because the strap in the front runs out of velcro. It felt okay around the waist, however the two rear flasks bounced all over the place. I tried running with them 3 or 4 times and every time had to ditch them before I got a quarter mile. If I could do it over again, I would get the large belt to ensure I could get a very tight fit, as this might alleviate some of the jostling.
The front two flasks worked great and didn't bother me at all. Each bottle holds 8 oz of fluid (32 oz total), so that way I could bring 16 oz of water with me, which makes a huge difference when you get over 10 miles or so. Even still, I drained the bottles very quickly, as 8 oz is not a lot of water. The bottles have a rubber band that goes over the mouth when they're in the belt, which keeps the bottles secure and prevents them from flying out. Although you will need to use two hands to put the bottle back into the holster. The front pocket is useful for a small cell phone, ID, or gu, and has an inner pocket sewn into it as well. I could almost do without the front pocket as it was a little bulky for my tastes, but did come in handy with gu. The pocket and each of the bottle holders also has reflective material on it.
Overall, this would be a good product if the strap was more adjustable and it actually fit. As it is now, it is useless to me as a 4 bottle belt, and I will probably end up cutting the two rear holders off. I would recommend people who don't need an entire 32 oz consider the Fuel Belt Wachusett Belt Black or try it on in a store to ensure a proper fit.
