Customer Reviews:
Ok but forget the cushion. May 7, 2008 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
I am a begginer neutral runner. I bought these on sale before I even started running. At first they were super comfortable, that's because I didn't know any better. They are roomy in the toe and the heal fits nice and snug. They are very lite. I have over 400 miles on them now and it has been 8 months.
First thing that happened was over my achilies I got a blister. They have a tab on the back of the shoe that can be used to pull them on. This tab is sewn in and causes much rubbing. It only took two weeks for my tendon to wear it down enough to not need a band aid.
Then I soon realized I had little to no cushioning. My knees were getting sore. When I graduated to the outside world I began to loath the tread. The tread likes to pick up little rocks and flip them right inside the shoe. I also find myself picking all the little rocks out of the tread before each run with a pocket knife.
Then the ultimate failure occured. I ran my first 12K with these. Bloomsday they call it. All my training was for this day. At the 3 mile mark I had to retie them because both shoes came undone, then the 4, 5, 6, and the 7. I lost so much time! They have never done this before or since but there was water on this course and I think they got a bit wet and that's all it took. So if you are using these on trails with any sort of puddles forget it.
So I retired these shoes and wear them to the grocery store or mall. For that they get 5 stars, for actual running and training a 3 star rating. Please note these are not red but hot pink, they are very cool looking sneakers.
I will look into NEw Blance again but I will stay away from trail running shoes in the future and maybe something more top of their line.
