Works great! September 2, 2008 This cooler works great. I have used it outside for parties and even with kids in and out of the cooler it keeps the drinks cold. It's easy to maneuver even when loaded with drinks and ice.
Great big cooler August 15, 2008 The cooler came in decent condition except for the fact that one of the handles was not attached. The pins that form the hinge were missing as if it wasn't completely assembled in the factory. A bit of a pain, but an email to Coleman--although it took some time for them to respond--resulted in them sending a replacement handle and pins for free, no questions asked.
As for the cooler itself, it's massive. Sure we have smaller coolers for day trips, but when our family is on vacation this cooler will give us enough storage to last several days between trips to the store.
It has a nice tight seal on the lid, although I covet the old style metal Coleman coolers with the metal swivel lock and gasket on the lid for an airtight seal. You can get that, but it's a lot more expensive.
The wheels are not massive, but work well with the pop-up handle. Still, I wouldn't want to try to pull this through deep sand, especially fully loaded.
Overall, this is a good cooler for the money sitting near the middle of the price range for similar products of this capacity. It's a good buy.
does not hold ice for 5 days in 90 degree weather July 23, 2008 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
this cooler is way over priced... we bought the cooler to hold bottled water for sale in a food stand, it did not even keep ice for 2 days in 85 - 90 degree days. The size of the cooler is nice and big however
Nice cooler July 21, 2008 2 out of 2 found this review helpful
We purchased this cooler to replace a 13-year old 100qt. Coleman that didn't seem to keep ice for more than two days while warm weather camping. This one didn't do much better with the ice in this new one. The second time out, we even tried putting all the drinks in the fridge for a day prior to putting them in the cooler as suggested. At most, we got 3 days in 90 degree heat before it was all water. However, the wheeled design is VERY nice. I'd recommend this cooler, but if you're looking to keep ice for 5 days as advertised, this just doesn't work as well as Coleman would have you believe.
What an Awesome cooler!!! February 20, 2008 4 out of 4 found this review helpful
I bought this cooler for an Oct camping trip. Little did I know it was going to stick around in the 80-85's the entire 4 days we were camping! I had brought 2 coolers with us, this one and a beer cooler. The beer cooler was melted by day 2. This one still had ice. So we transferred all the beer into this one. I'm suprised everything fit. After multiple openings and closings, all the food was still cold and there was still ice in it when we left the site. I was impressed and will highly reccomend this product to anyone.
