Product Description FREE UPGRADE TO USPS PRIORITY SHIPPING FOR A LIMITED TIME! Be prepared for nature's harshest elements this season with Red Rock Thermals! Introducing the all-new thermal crew designed from the fabric up. The Red Rock Thermals crew is the most advanced thermal on the market; incorporating a variety of design features aimed to provide you with the most comfortable and functional thermal ever. Its heavy expedition weight polypropylene will keep you warm when it matters most. The first layer against your skin is your most important layer. Red Rock Thermals are made of 100% polypropylene with a soft fleece-like interior. Red Rock polypropylene thermals have the lowest thermal conductivity (the rate at which heat flows through a material) of any traditional apparel fiber. Dry polypropylene fiber does not absorb moisture; it's unique vapor transfer ability moves moisture away from your skin in the vapor stage and keeps you dry when it matters most. With its heavy expedition material, Red Rock Thermals are comfortable enough to wear under any clothing to provide you with the warmth and comfort needed during the many outdoor activities you may encounter. Red Rock Thermals are perfect for hunting, fishing, skiing, hiking, and beyond. Features of Polypropylene - Expedition weight provides maximum warmth and comfort. - Low thermal conductivity results in more heat being retained for longer lengths of time. - Moves moisture away from the skin in the vapor stage before condensing. - Dries quickly by not absorbing moisture into the fiber itself. - Lightweight fibers result in more warmth from less weight and bulk. - Durable, abrasion-resistant exterior withstands wear and tear. - Soft fleece-like interior provides ultimate comfort against the skin. - Odor, stain, and bacteria resistant. - Color fast construction keeps colors bright and helps the thermal stay looking newer longer. - Will not react to or degrade from ordinary chemicals or sweat.

A warm under shirt November 17, 2008 Can be worn aginst your skin and is warmer than most sweat shirts. But whats with the thin red stripe?
Polypro October 24, 2008 This poly pro is warm and works well beneath my uniform. I work security in the Balkens for the military, and this product made it to me pretty quick.. Absolutely wonderful item..
design flaw March 17, 2008 1 out of 2 found this review helpful
We lived in Northern Alaska for 25 years and my husband worked for the Alaska Air Guard, so he spent a lot of time out in the worst weather. He says those strips of thin fabric down the inside of the arms and sides would be a serious heat loss zone. So, he doesn't really want them. I don't think this feature was mentioned in the product information. I thought it was just a different color of polypropylene from the picture of the longjohn top.
Great Base Layer January 2, 2008 3 out of 3 found this review helpful
I live in Denver and ski/ride regularly each winter -- often in extreme temps. These base layer garments (top and bottom) are the warmest I've ever used. For example, I rode last week in negative 10 to negative 20 degree (F) conditions comfortably. Two words of warning: 1. Don't put them on until you are ready to go outside immediately, or you will burn up. 2. These are not the right base layer for temps above 20 degrees (F), as they are just too hot.
super warm December 24, 2007 3 out of 3 found this review helpful
easily the warmest base I've had so far. In response to the other reviewer... yes, they are thicker than, say, a duofold poly/wool base layer... these are about the thickness of a lightweight sweatshirt, but they insulate SO MUCH better. I usually wear this as part of a 3-layer system... first layer is a silk-weight Duofold "Varitherm", this Red Rock is the second layer, then the 3rd layer is usually a 1/4 zip fleece. With my jacket on top of that, I've handled air temps as low as -10 and wind chills in the -30 range. regarding the bulkiness... it should fit properly... snug, but not tight (similar to the product photo)... if you're the type who is actually a size "medium", yet wears "large" because you like the baggier fit, then be prepared for a little bulk... but if you get your true size, then you should have plenty of room to wear your favorite XL hoodie over this and be super warm. I plan to buy a few more of these soon.
