5 out of 5 stars Smartwool glove liner.   February 8, 2008

Wanted something warm and that would also allow me to use a pen or pencil. These work well, and are very compact, so can be stuffed into a pocket easily. Good quality.

I purchased these glove liners before a trip to Helsinki in December 2005 - they are wonderful. I never put another glove on top of them. No cold air comes through them and they are thin enough to use my hands normally. I'm buying another pair because I finally lost them.....in addition to serving me well on the coast in Oregon, they had gone with me to Copenhagen and Paris, with the same results, before leaving my possession.

3 out of 5 stars Not the Same Merino   March 18, 2007

Let me start by saying that I am huge fan of Smartwool products. I've been changing my sock drawer to all-Smartwool all the time. I was initially disappointed with the glove liners, though. They don't actually itch or scratch, but they feel rough enough to suggest itching and scratching. Maybe it's the guage of the knit -- 10 stitches to the inch. I'm not going to count the stitches per inch in the socks, but I'd guess the guage is twice as fine. The gloves are, however, warm, just like you'd want a glove liner to be.
