Product Description Developed for the Israel military forces and battle tested in real-life combat, Krav Maga has gained an international reputation as an easy-to-learn yet highly effective art of self-defense. Clearly written and extensively illustrated, Complete Krav Maga details every aspect of the system including dozens of hand-to-hand combat moves, over 20 weapons defense techniques and a complete physical conditioning workout program.
All the moves are described in depth from beginning Yellow Belt to advanced Black Belt, yet they are easy to learn because one of Krav Maga's strengths is its simplicity. Based on the principle that it is best to move from defense to attack as quickly as possible, Complete Krav Maga offers fast-escape maneuvers from attacks and holds. It then follows them up with specific counterattacks, including punches, kicks and throws.
The authors show how anyone (big or small, man or woman) can practice self defense by using Krav Maga to protect weak spots, exploit an assailant's vulnerabilities and turn the attacker s force against him. Complete Krav Maga teaches the reader how to get in shape, gain confidence and feel safer and more secure every day.

Very good supplement to live training January 5, 2009 As a student of Krav Maga, I would say that this book is an invaluable reference to live training. I wouldn't recommend trying to learn the system by simply reading this book, but that goes without saying.
Some people here have been critical of certain techniques saying that they are dangerous, etc. I would say to those people that the basics defenses are tested and proven and that risky or dangerous defenses tend to be used as an option in case one of the basic defenses doesn't work. Anyway, one of the basic principles of Krav is to do what works for you.
Very good book December 26, 2008 "Complete Krav Maga" provides a clear and logical collection of Krav Maga techniques. The techniques are organized by what the rank requirements of Krav Maga are. They run the gammut from basic strikes, breakfalls, grab defenses, ground defenses, and defenses against weapons such as sticks, knives, and firearms. Most of the defenses are simple and logical. The text gives step-by-step instructions that correspond to black-and-white photos. The main downside is that the pictures are not always clear, and some of the defenses are questionable, but overall this is a very good book.
Good book, but... December 17, 2008 2 out of 2 found this review helpful
This book is well documented and well written. "Complete" is a bit of a misnomer since there is so much more to Krav Maga than what is written in this book. As other reviews have stated it lacks about 80% of what I would say the art really is - the situational experience offered by a Krav Maga class. The only way to practice driving, is by driving. The only way to practice Krav Maga, is from an instructor. This book is a reference guide but Krav's key quality is (and this is noted in the book): to apply stress to you and train you in that stress. Then, when you are stressed in combat, the correct training will come forth. The techniques are solid (as I learned them in class) but without the actual training is next to useless. This is true of any MA book. As a point of fact: David Kahn is connected to the original Krav Maga non-profit group that began in Israel. Every other branch (not to say they are not "quality" or "well trained") was a breakaway from the IKMA and Imi's original foundation. Stay with the source.
Great student hand book August 12, 2008 This is a great supplement to any student that is taking Krav Maga. Its impossible to get "it" all in class and having something to use as a manual at home is an asset to your training.
Most instructors I have talked to also have this book and it covers a lot of what is in the instructors manual. its not all the trade secrets mind you but trimmed down and explained in a way that is perfect for the student in question.
Just getting in to Krav Maga? Current student that is looking for a supplement guide? Getting ready for the belt/level test? This is the book to get
Complete Krav Maga: The Ultimate Guide to Over 200 Self-Defense and Combative Techniques July 27, 2008 A must for anyone training under a licensed and certified Krav Maga instructor. It allows you to review and practice the techniques on off-training days. It is also The official guide of Krav Maga Worldwide, I trust it better than the other guides.
